Alpha Protocol Preorder Bonuses Revealed

Want to go in Die Hard style with crazy assault weapons? Pre order from GameStop. Doing this will net you the exclusive Assault weapons pack that contains:

  • Some shotgun with a fancy name (UC Regulator if you MUST know)
  • Some Assault Rifle with a fancy name (Rittergroupen Grizzly? That's actually not that fancy)
  • Different Ammo Types

Are you more the spy than the heavy? Like sneaking around and stabbing (or shooting) dudes in the back? Pre Order from Best Buy and get the exclusive Stealth Weapons pack. The package will include:

  • Hamilton High Accuracy Pistol
  • Symel Typhoon SMG
  • Different Ammo Types

Don't care about the superfluous fancy weapons? Just save a few bucks and pre order from Amazon.com. They will save you a net 5% (about $3).

I'm not sure how I feel about pre order bonuses. It is defiantly the trend and will not be going away, but I'm not sure how consumer friendly it is. If I pay my $60 for a new game should it matter where I buy it from? Why can't companies give a first week purchase bonus and reward full price patrons? I understand that pre ordering gives publishers an idea of many hard copies to manufacture and helps control and anticipate costs and demand, but are us full price buyers not entitled to all the content?
