Join Your Cat Soon When We Can Go Up Into The 18th Attic

The 18th Attic

The release date for The 18th Attic is coming, and we have a little more to look at within The 18th Attic

Get your PC warmed back up and ready for some extra kitten cuddles, as the release date for The 18th Attic is almost upon us. The game will be fully ready from Steelkrill Studio on February 2nd, just in case you need a new psychological horror title to play through for the month. I'm sorry to pull the rug out on you if that intro made you think this was some kind of cozy cat petting title, but The 18th Attic does have some of that in there to go with the horror. In fact, all of that is based on the real-life cat from the developer. One of the few things that we can say will have us in the real-world to some degree with this game in the coming weeks.

If we are not going to just be petting cats in The 18th Attic, then what will we be doing in the game? Well, in the game, we are trapped in a weird loop and haunted by various entities out there who want to make sure we do not finish the loop. We have an instant shot camera in our hands to help detect their presence while also helping us figure out more of the secrets that we'll need to answer before we can get out of this loop. Sometimes this will offer up various memories from our past in The 18th Attic. Sometimes, though, these memories will be used to trick us by these evil forces. That doesn't feel fair, but it is a good way to keep us walking through all of the horrors and find our in-game cat that we will get to see evolve and change along with us in the game. That is at least some fun for those who are normally scaredy cats in real life.

The 18th Attic — Reveal Date

Steelkrill Studio has revealed new teaser footage for The 18th Attic, an upcoming psychological horror title launching on February 2, 2026 - featuring a fully interactive, customizable cat companion based directly on the developer’s real-life cat.

The game has been in development for over a year, and instead of pills or medicine like in traditional horror games, The 18th Attic asks players to calm themselves in a more human way - by petting their cat. The real-life-inspired cat companion directly restores sanity and can be fully customized, including its name, skin, and more.

The 18th Attic is a psychological horror game where you play as a man trapped in a loop, armed only with an instant picture camera. Hunt down paranormal anomalies lurking around by taking their pictures and detecting their presence to unravel the haunting secrets of your past. Each photo will unlock a new memory. Will you uncover them all? Use your instant picture camera to take photos of paranormal anomalies that you find strange. Each photo unlocks a memory… but beware - they will try to trick you, and some anomalies are not as friendly as the others.

Do you think that you are going to add The 18th Attic into your list of games next month? How often will the photos and memories be altered in the game to mess with us? Will the cat be the saving grace in some manner as we make our way through all of the horrors? What do you think is keeping us in this little loop we find ourselves in? Let's talk all about that in the comment section further down the page here. There could be a bit more to share for The 18th Attic, and we'll share it all when it comes up. All you have to do is keep coming back to the site and follow along on our socials. You should be doing that all already, but here's that friendly reminder for you.
