Occultist
New footage for The Occultist is out and takes us all through more of the journey our Occultist will have to endure
Things are starting to pick up for The Occultist, as we have a bit more of the gameplay to look at so we can get ready for all of the haunting journey that is on in the way in 2026. Sure, that is still a ways off, but DALOAR is working hard on it all and is ready to show us where the game is after quite a bit of a break. Not to mention Daedalic Entertainment did offer this up for a special event here recently, to make sure more knew about The Occultist was coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. So, come and join us in looking at the new footage that is out there for the game, and see if it is going to tickle a fancy when the new year rolls around.
To claim this is fully a look at the gameplay for The Occultist is a bit of a misnomer, as it is a bunch of scenes from the game cut together with a little of the gameplay mixed in. We do get to see what can be assumed to be boss characters in the game, along with a lot of the creepy locations we will be exploring as we wander about the decaying streets of Godstone. The only real gameplay that we have looks to be our occultist moving things about to solve puzzles and maybe running away from some of the bigger antagonists in the game. That could just be a weird take, but we still have a year until it is ready, so maybe this is truly just to remind us that the game is coming. Have a look at it all just a bit further down the page, and see if this new footage does anything more to pull you into the supernatural. Even if it is that time of year when we should all be open to it.
The Occultist — Extended Gameplay
Daedalic Entertainment and DALOAR have premiered a striking new trailer for The Occultist. The video showcases never-before-seen gameplay and deepens the game’s oppressive, supernatural atmosphere — from the pendulum’s arcane powers to cryptic puzzle encounters and the spectral and monstrous beings haunting the island of Godstone.
More than just a preview, the trailer underlines how far development has progressed and teases the haunting journey awaiting players. Each scene draws deeper into Godstone’s decaying streets, where silence hides secrets and every ritual leaves its mark.
The Occultist will descend upon PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026, drawing players into Godstone’s shadows.
Where do you stand on the new footage for The Occultist, and does it show you the parts of the gameplay you were hoping to see? Would this have been better to see a solid walkthrough of a mission, or is it better storytelling to get little flashes of gameplay mixed with in-game scenes? Could we see a small demo for the game out there before the end of the year to better sell us on why we need this game? Creep your way into the comment section to discuss all of that and anything else that comes to your mind. We will certainly add all that we can for The Occultist going forward, so please keep on checking back in for all of those updates and the many others still in the works.
