Cronos: The New Dawn Takes Us Back & Deeper Into What The Gameplay Offers

Cronos

A new deep dive in Cronos: The New Dawn is here and we get to learn so much more about the world of Cronos

I always hate when we get teases for a great game and then have to wait a long time to actually know what is going on, as in the case for Cronos: The New Dawn. It was revealed and teased by Bloober Team months ago with a CG trailer, and then there was nothing else for us all to go on for it. All we knew was it was a new Sci-Fi horror title coming for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC later in 2025 and that was about it. Until now, that is, as the team behind Cronos: The New Dawn is finally ready to open up about the game and take us for a dark walk into what the game is going to offer up to us all beyond all the usual Dead Space comparisons we were left with during the original reveal. Let us dive right in now.

So, for starters, Cronos: The New Dawn will be taking place in a world where civilization pretty much ended in the 1980s. A grim and dark ending, but that is where some of the survivors from the future are stepping in to save those that they can from the past. That is the role we are playing in the game as we head back to find those humans while also having to deal with all of the body horror of the other survivors in the mix. Still using a lot of the ideas from Dead Space as inspiration, but a lot of other IPs are in the mix, too. All to let Cronos: The New Dawn feel like its own game while giving us all the great flavors of the other titles. An interesting take on the genre and not just another space travel game or one that feels like it is going to bungle time travel. More so when the mention of 12 Monkeys comes up and other IPs that have the protagonists going back in time to save the future.
