Indiana Jones
Indiana Jones is finally joining other adventuring parties on the PS5 with the release for Indiana Jones And The Great Circle
We all knew it was only a matter of time for Indiana Jones And The Great Circle to make it over to the PS5 from the Xbox Series X|S and PC, we just did not know when that time would be. Machine Games and Bethesda were very clear there would be the jump on the consoles, with just a bit of an exclusive run for the business daddy who owns all of them currently. Now, we have that release date for those Indiana Jones fans out there who have only one system to play the game on. April 17th will see that day when we head out to punch more Nazis on the new console. April 15th for those willing to drop a little extra scratch on the game and get Early Access to it all. Although, we have waited this long, what's the difference of waiting a few extra days instead?
In a fun little twist for this announcement, we are not getting treated to any new gameplay for Indiana Jones And The Great Circle to help hype it all up. In fact, we have a live-action video with Troy Baker (voice of Indiana Jones) and Nolan North (voice of Natan Drake) with the PlayStation icon welcoming in the other treasure hunter to the mix. Even though they already played treasure-hunting characters together on the PlayStation already… A weird choice to go with to announce this when the bigger thing for all of this is that not only has the game been optimized for the PS5 Pro, but there are some new abilities coming in the game for us to enjoy. Not just in this new version of the game, but as a free download for all of the other versions of the game so no one is left behind. A weird way to market all of this when you look at it, since this could be mistaken for a really late Uncharted 4 announcement for those PlayStation fans who have already experienced what these two can do.
Indiana Jones And The Great Circle — PS5 Date Reveal
On April 17, Machine Games, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, will launch the critically acclaimed Indiana Jones And The Great Circle on PlayStation 5 consoles. Awarded D.I.C.E Adventure Game of the Year, achieving over 40 perfect review scores, and featured in more than 50 “Best of” and “Game of the Year” lists in 2024, pre-orders are now available on PlayStation 5. Those who purchase the Premium Edition or Collector’s Bundle will receive two days of early access, beginning April 15.
PlayStation 5 players prepare to step into the boots of the iconic adventurer and experience an authentic Indiana Jones journey set in 1937, between the events of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In this cinematic, single-player adventure, players will use Indy’s whip and wits to navigate a narrative-driven world of adventure, immersive action, and intriguing puzzles. Combine stealthy infiltration, first-person melee, and gunplay to sneak, fight, and puzzle while confronting sinister forces around the world as Indiana Jones.
Indiana Jones And The Great Circle has been visually optimized for the PlayStation 5 Pro. In tandem with the PlayStation 5 launch, players can look forward to new whip abilities, Open Season, and Sleight of Hand. With “Open Season,” whip-cracking an enemy will temporarily cause them to take more damage from subsequent attacks, while when using “Sleight of Hand,” players can disarm an enemy and cause their weapon to fly Indy’s way. These new abilities will be available across all platforms by April 15.
With all pre-orders, players will receive The Last Crusade Pack, which provides the Traveling Suit Outfit and the Lion Tamer Whip. The Premium edition will have access to the upcoming story DLC, Indiana Jones And The Great Circle: The Order Of Giants which will be available later this year, in addition to the Temple Of Doom Outfit, and a digital-art book. The digital Premium Upgrade edition, which enjoys all the perks above, will be available for purchase on April 17 for those with the base game. The digital and physical Premium Editions, along with the Collector’s Bundle, include two days of early access starting on April 15.
Did the marketing team know about these actor's history before leaning into the Indiana Jones side of things? Would it have been better to show off the new abilities in motion instead of just giving them all to us in text instead? Will you just be waiting the two extra days to play the full game after having so much of the gameplay out there already and the extra time not being the best incentive to pre-order? Swing on down to the comment section to let us all in on those thoughts and the discussion from that. We will share all that we can for Indiana Jones And The Great Circle as we wait for the PS5 release to come. Just be sure to keep your eyes on the site and our social accounts so you do not miss out on those updates at all as they come. Maybe there will be a great reason for this weird bit of marketing when all is said and done…
