The Secrets Are Never At Rest In The Story For South Of Midnight

South Of Midnight

More of the story for South Of Midnight is out here now along with a solid release date for South Of Midnight

I know back when South Of Midnight was first announced, I was curious and excited to see how different folklores were going to be highlighted in our video games. This is something that seems to have been a bigger shift recently and Compulsion Games was taking aim at some of the Southern United States and areas to dig into some new stories to focus on. Now, we have a taste of the bigger story that South Of Midnight is going to be bringing to the Xbox Series X|S and PC. A story that we all are going to have a chance to experience on April 8th, 2025, with the final release date placed down on all of our calendars out there.

As it all is looking to go, South Of Midnight looks and feels like it is using some of those story tropes from other IPs to push forward this narrative. A massive windstorm that whisks away a home and places our protagonist in a different reality where magical beings exist… Only this time it is a hurricane, a trailer home, and various other ancient creatures in the Southern Gothic realm of fantasy. That is where Hazel, our protagonist, will need to set out and navigate all of this with some new powers and abilities as well. Even though the story for South Of Midnight does sound close to others we have experienced a number of times before, it does still manage to bring a lot of new things to light. Things that you can see moving about and interacting just a little lower in the new video that we have for the game.

South Of Midnight — Story

When a hurricane rips through Prospero, Hazel is pulled into a Southern Gothic world where reality and fantasy are interwoven, and ancient creatures from folklore emerge.

Coming to Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC on April 8, 2025.

Does the story for South Of Midnight feel a bit too close to that of The Wizard Of Oz and other stories like it? What will be the reason behind Hazel getting some of the new things we see going on in the gameplay section of the video here? Are you surprised that this one had such a quick turnaround from announcement to release, and will that ultimately help it out? Head on down to the comment section to discuss it all and anything else that seems to come to mind after all is said and done? We are going to keep on offering up what we can for South Of Midnight, so please keep on checking in for all of that and everything else we can gather for the game. Even if the story sounds close, it does look like it is only the broader strokes and the finer details that will give the game all the extra fun that we are looking for out there.
