Launch Into The New Challenge Out There For Halloween With DON’T SCREAM

DON’T SCREAM

The full version of DON’T SCREAM is finally launched out there with DON’T SCREAM giving us some great updates for Halloween

As if we did not have many reasons to scream in fear for Halloween already, here we go to add the full version of DON’T SCREAM to the list. Not that it was not available already with the Early Access that was going on, but the full 1.0 version of the game has now released out there. So, get your friends around the PC and set those microphones up for some of the terror that DON’T SCREAM. Especially as we see some of the newer updates that the team has been working on get slipped right in there too. Like the fact that the enemies can now kill us in the game and it is not all about them getting a good jump scare on us and ending our silent run of things.

Just in case you have no idea what DON’T SCREAM is, it is another of the bodycam horror titles that have been slipping out there. This one with the twist that we need to have the microphones turned on and then survive the exploration of the area for eighteen minutes. If we make any kind of scream or loud noise, it is game over. All while DON’T SCREAM builds out the areas and elements of the world in interesting ways and uses some AI tricks to help build the tension better as the player gets better at it all. All to lead to one of the loud screams that even some of the bravest souls out there might be trying to hold back. Have a look at the full game just a little lower and all of the other fun details added if you were in on the Early Access up to now.

DON’T SCREAM — Launch Trailer

Digital Cybercherries are pleased to announce that DON’T SCREAM is exiting early access for its full 1.0 release. This new game from the studio that brought you the colorful action-figure title HYPERCHARGE: UNBOXED takes a sharp tonal turn to deliver the ‘90s found footage-inspired horror game where you explore a mysterious forest for a terrifying 18-minutes (unless you’re too scared to move). The twist is that if you scream, you have to restart.

DON’T SCREAM launched in Early Access in October 2023, quickly becoming a breakout hit. In just its first week, the game sold over 100,000 units, driven in part by its meteoric rise as a streaming sensation.

Time only progresses as you move in DON’T SCREAM and you can’t predict the scares. You must calibrate your microphone in-game so that every whimper, jump, or even a minor squeak is registered as a scream, increasing the challenge. With dozens of dynamic scares, each playthrough offers a unique experience.

The 1.0 release of DON’T SCREAM on October 28th comes with a whole host of improvements, including:

  • Improved performance for smoother gameplay
  • Enhanced scares with better models, animations, effects, and sounds
  • Improved pacing of scares, with a greater focus on tension and buildup
  • Tons of new places to explore in the forest and existing areas look much better
  • Completely redesigned sound for a more immersive experience
  • Hugely improved microphone calibration
  • Some enemies can now kill the player
  • New environmental dangers
  • Steam achievements and relics to find to incentivize replayability
  • New battery mechanic to make things more challenging
  • Completely overhauled user interface that’s easier to use
  • Progress page where players can track their progress
  • Improved environmental storytelling
  • The game now has much more replayability

These are just the highlights that you can expect when the game hits ahead of Halloween! Those who have already tried the game in Early Access have even more changes, with essentially every single aspect of the game enjoying improvements for the 1.0 release.

Have you been experiencing what DON’T SCREAM has had to offer up before now or was this the update you have been holding out for? Will we get even more updates after Halloween or will it mostly be quality-of-life changes to keep the game viable as long as possible? How do you think PC gamers are going to fudge all of this with their microphone and will we see them get shamed for doing so instead of having the full experience? Sneak on down to the comment section to discuss it all and give those thoughts to the world. If we get any more updates for DON’T SCREAM, we will certainly add them all here for you. Please keep on checking in for all of that and everything else that we have to share.
