A new entry into the TRON universe is on the way with the announcement we have for Disney TRON: Catalyst coming next year
It looks like we are seeing the IP endure the test of time, as we have TRON: Catalyst adding one more story into the line that Disney has out there in the digital space. Not only for that company, but also as we see the story from Bithell Games carry forward with Big Fan Games continuing the story of the Arq Grid that we all had in TRON: Identity. All in a new isometric action title coming in 2025 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. Get your data discs loaded up and ready for a fun light cycle ride once more so we can end one more Glitch on the grid.
Now that we have the basics of TRON: Catalyst to take in there, let us see a bit more of the nitty gritty that we can expect with the game. It looks as if we are going to be throwing that data disc around quite a bit in the game with it as our main attack option in the game. All as we take on the various game and time loops in the digital world while getting to know more about Exo. That would be the protagonist in this part of the TRON story that we will need to get to know better. As long as we want to do all of that and get to the lightcycle racing that looks like it will be in full force here. As long as the trailer here is not trying to sell us all on something that we want to see in the game but will only be in cinematics and not actually part of the gameplay…
Disney TRON: Catalyst — Announcement
Big Fan Games together with developer Bithell Games in collaboration with Disney Games, announced Disney TRON: Catalyst, a thrilling, story-driven isometric action game set in the world of Disney’s TRON. Continuing the story of the Arq Grid, first introduced in TRON: Identity by Bithell Games, TRON: Catalyst will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in 2025.
In TRON: Catalyst, players are introduced to Exo, a highly resilient and resourceful program with an incredible ability to initiate time loops. With this newfound power, Exo takes on the overlords of a crumbling Grid all while evading Conn, a malevolent agent of CORE. Exo must gain control over her mysterious abilities and uncover the unexplained ‘Glitch’ that threatens the Grid.
As Exo, players will battle on-foot and on Light Cycle to complete missions and gain crucial insights that will help them on their quest. While learning from her mistakes, Exo will also need to navigate warring factions to unlock new paths and uncover the secrets of the Arq Grid.
Disney TRON: Catalyst launches on PC and consoles in 2025 and will also feature beautiful new hand-drawn art and original music, from the TRON universe.
