Necrophosis Teases Us With Even More Of The Cosmic Horror

Necrophosis

A new Lovecraftian title, Necrophosis, is on the way with Necrophosis diving into the many things that inspired it

If you could not get enough of some surreal landscapes and other kinds of horror already, then we have news for you that a new title, Necrophosis, is on the way to give you more of just that. A new title from Dragonis Games that is influenced and inspired by a few other games that lean into this along with all of the other Lovecraftian imagery out there. All with some extra first-person gameplay to further put us into the cosmic horror setting of it all while solving some truly odd puzzles. At least when Necrophosis is able to finally land on the PC down the line. For now, we will just have to look at some of the new gameplay that has been handed out.

If you have played games like Scorn, then you are going to be able to pick up what Necrophosis is putting down rather quickly. That is the basic theme and feel of this game where we join our protagonist on this journey through these landscapes and explore how they all connect. All while other things haunt the lands and threaten to end our lives. They are also most likely the ones who set up all of the weird puzzles in Necrophosis that will have us causing harm or killing other creatures along the way in the game to solve these puzzles. Have a look and see what is coming with this title and see if it is going to live up to what has inspired it from before.

Necrophosis — Teaser

The creators of the successful Lovecraftian titles The Shore and Eresys have just launched a new teaser trailer for their upcoming horror indie adventure, Necrophosis. Set in an enigmatic world where entities from different universes converge, the protagonist is alone with one mission: to explore interconnected regions in a non-linear experience. Crafted with the stunning detail of Unreal Engine 5, Necrophosis invites players into a nightmarish world that challenges the boundaries of reality and horror.

Necrophosis immerses players in bizarre and surreal landscapes, each uniquely themed with its own set of eerie puzzles and haunting entities. The influence of Zdzisław Beksiński’s art adds a disturbing beauty to the environment, enhancing the game experience. Drawing inspiration from games like Scorn, Necrophosis offers a blend of deep storytelling and ghostly visuals, making each location a dark puzzle with its own scary story and mysterious characters.

Right out the gate, Necrophosis kind of feels like a color swapped Scorn. I enjoyed that game, but everything seen here feels just like it with a swap from blacks and grey to browns and tans. Not a terrible this, for now, but I have a feeling this is going to need to have an amazing story or some other unique gameplay elements to truly shine with gamers. That or to help Necrophosis stand out more. It feels like I have played this game before or that it is some kind of expansion for another title instead of being its own thing. There is still time to tell and this is just a small clip, but that is where my mind is for now.

Where do you sit as it comes to what we have here for Necrophosis? Does it feel more like the games that inspired it or does it feel like something that is going to be truly unique down the line with a few slight nods? Will this be forever the issue with this genre of games as they can only be shown off in so many ways while telling different stories? Travel on into the comment section below to discuss all of it and everything else we have to offer up. There is going to be more for Necrophosis, so please keep on checking back for all of that and much, much more.
