Heading Out
The release date for Heading Out is set down with Heading Out putting us into a new car this coming May
Pull out your maps and get ready to set out on the road with Heading Out, as we have a release date for the game set. This is the next title to come out of Serious Sim and Saber Interactive for the PC, for those who may not have heard of the game before now. A game that has been worked on, given a nice little style, and is now set to roll out there on May 7th for those who find the concept for Heading Out interesting. So, mark those calendars and then see what is going to place us into a different driver's seat when that day does finally roll on out there. At least for those who still find driving games a good source of fun.
For those who might not have heard of Heading Out before now, this is a driving and racing game that is likened to the stories of Thelma & Louise with what looks like a splash of Deathproof mixed in. If you do not know those films, it is a lot of driving, escaping cops, and causing some death and destruction along the way. All while using a monochrome look and graphic novel style to the gameplay and how the story will be doled out as we drive across the country doing all of those actions. Have a look at Heading Out just a little lower to get a better feel for it all so you can paint a better picture in your head before the game launches out there.

Saber Interactive has announced it is partnering with indie developer Serious Sim to publish the highly stylized, immersive driving game Heading Out on May 7, 2024, on PC via Steam. Heading Out is a narrative adventure with roguelite elements inspired by cult classic road movies like Thelma & Louise and Vanishing Point. Check out the game’s new release date trailer for an up-close look at the lawless action and attitude that await when you put the pedal to the metal and leave your fears in the dust.

I do have to say that Heading Out did catch my eye with not only the visuals but also the basic premise of it all. Many games like it seem to always focus on how good they can make the car look and not much else in the game. This one looks like it could have some heart while offering up a solid bit of action in the mix too. Driving around, listening to solid songs, and driving others off the road can be a great break from all of the other things we have had as of late too. Especially as it seems like there is going to be more than just a lot of open roads in Heading Out and maybe even a massive tearjerking ending that many might not see coming. At least if we go by the inspirations they used for the game.
Have you been on the lookout for Heading Out and are excited to see the release date is now set? Do you think there is going to be more action in the game than just mindless driving or will it be perfectly balanced out there? Have you seen the films that were mentioned above and do you think it will be closer to those stories or just more on the frantic road trip that takes place in them? Head into the comments to discuss it all and let the world know what is on your mind. We will share all that we can for Heading Out up to the release of it all, so please keep a close eye on the site for all of that.
