It seems as if there is no way to escape the mass amount of remakes coming, as we have the announcement for Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake. One more to the list to see if the original title can be outdone. Although, this one is coming from Avantgarden instead but 505 Games is still part of the picture for all of this. All so we can see Brothers land on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 28th, 2024. Let us have a look at how they are going to try to make this 2013 masterpiece stand out and try to claim more of those awards during the next year of releases.

You can see the announcement for Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake below as well as how it looks as if the visuals are getting a massive overhaul for it all. They are using the Unreal Engine 5 for it, so this track. Thankfully, they are keeping the animated style of the characters instead of going hyper-realistic. All to retell the same story of these two brothers and the journey they are going on to save their dying father. All while giving us more of the 3D space to navigate about and explore the world a bit more. The limitations of that from before were part of the charm of the game, so it will be interesting to see if it can still hold that charm while giving us more to do in the game.

Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake — Announcement

Leading video game publisher 505 Games, and developer Avantgarden proudly announce Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake, a lovingly crafted re-telling of the multi-award-winning 2013 classic.

Endorsed by Josef Fares, the creative visionary behind the original game, Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake faithfully re-tells the remarkable heart-rending journey of brothers Naia and Naiee as they embark on a quest to save the life of their dying father. Built on the Unreal Engine 5, every step of the brothers’ journey has been painstakingly rebuilt from the ground up for the most immersive story possible, whilst remaining faithful to the original game. As an additional bonus, the classic single-player experience is now also joined by local co-op, allowing friends to each control a brother’s actions.

Winning several prestigious accolades including a BAFTA for Game Innovation, Downloadable Game of the Year Awards at the D.I.C.E and Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, and Best Xbox Game at the VGAs, Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons has been heralded by many as one of the most influential games of the past decade.

The Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake will be released on February 28th, 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.

I, for one, am still very iffy on getting remakes of these classic games like Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons. Do not get me wrong, I enjoy replaying the same events and watching the same story as many others out there, but I am also a big advocate for trying to push forward and innovate. Brothers did that well back when it first came out and gave us something worthy of praise in the storytelling realm. This remake feels like it could be closer to publishers trying to make more money and obfuscating that by giving a new generation just fancy visuals when they can experience something more heartfelt by digging into the past. We will know for sure in a few months though.

Did you have a chance to play the original version of Brothers back in 2013 or up to now or will you be checking it out this February? Will the new visuals detract from the charm of it all or will it elevate the game even further? Should we keep just remaking what worked before or take some chances to make the next great thing everyone will want to remake in a decade? Take all of those thoughts down to the comment section and then discuss it all as you so want to. We will keep an eye on Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake and keep you updated for it all as best as we can. I am sure there is more to drop very soon.
