Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden Makes Sure Death Is For The Dead

Banishers

One more trailer for Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden came out and highlights more of the Banishers’ oath and how it will play in

While we still have to wait a bit for Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden to hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 13th, we have one more look at the oath that we will have to take when the game fires off. The oath that will have us playing the game in a certain way as we do with all of DON’T NOD's titles out there. Do we go with the oath that would have us putting our love to final rest or do we go with the option to forsake the oath and bring them back? A nice little dilemma to have. Also, one that was highlighted during The Game Awards this year with the latest trailer we have for Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden. One that also shows off a bit more on the entity side of things too.

Most of the following teaser for Banishers is prerendered or cutscene from the game, but there is a little bit of gameplay mixed in if you can catch it. It was made for The Game Awards, so it is definitely more commercial than a showcase of how the game will actually be. Thankfully, in the mix, we do get to see some of the boss enemies in the wild. That is the assumption here, as we see our Banishers heading to the other side a few times and seeing some massive ghosts and monsters. Some of them are pure nightmare fuel and others feeling about the norm we get in games about ghosts. Nonetheless, it is a fun watch to have just a little lower down.

Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden — Death To The Dead

Focus Entertainment and DON’T NOD have unveiled an ambitious new trailer for Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden during The Game Awards ceremony, setting the tone for the highly anticipated action RPG, coming Feb. 13, 2024, to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Immerse yourself in a compelling and personal narrative, as you take on the roles of two skilled ghost hunters and partners facing challenging decisions with profound consequences for both the living and the dead.

Life to the living, death to the dead!

New Eden, 1695: Antea and Red are lovers and Banishers, trained spirit-hunters, protecting people from lingering specters. But when tragedy strikes and Antea herself becomes a ghost, will you honor your Banisher oath, or sacrifice the living in a desperate bid to bring your beloved back?

Players will have to face the weight of the consequences of their choices, just like the game’s voice actors Amaka Okafor (the Netflix series Bodies) and Russ Bain (Shetland) when they played it for themselves recently.

Exclusive editions to embellish your Banisher collection.

Launching on February 13, Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden pre-orders are now open on all platforms. The Red Echoes Edition contains an ancient, leather-effect notebook illustrated with Red's memories, an ink writing set, the game on any platform, and the “Wanderer Set” DLC!

The Collector’s Edition of Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden includes:

  • The game on any platform with the “Wanderer Set” DLC for Red
  • A modular statuette of Red and Antea
  • The game’s official artbook
  • A SteelBook
  • Two Banishers signet rings

While I am not overly keen on the commercial and prerendered aspect of this new trailer for Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden, I do like the small looks we are getting for other things out there. Up to now, it has mostly been smaller humanoid ghosts or creatures we need to face in the game. Here we are getting some truly massive entities that look like they will be ravaging and a hard fight to have. This is all from a sizzle trailer for Banishers, so there is some salt to be taken with all of it. I would just like to think that the gameplay elements of the trailer were left in for the reason to give us the true excitement we should have. We will know best in a few months from now, I guess.

Do you like what we have to see here for Banishers or does it feel like it was something we should have seen on live TV, for those that still have that? Do you think we are going to be able to walk a good balance between oath and resurrection in the game or will it be a hard line drawn? How hard do you think some of these other creatures will be to face or will it boil down to the same style of gameplay other titles have employed? Head into the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else we have to share in the world. We will have more for Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden as it comes out there, so please keep on checking in for all of that and much, much more.
