Suicide Squad
A new look at Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is here to dig into some of the changes coming to us for this Suicide Squad title
After all of those delays out there for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, we finally get to see how the team over at Rocksteady has gone out to change the game up to something that the players would actually want out there. A feat that felt as if it was going to be rough with February 2nd, 2024, not that far off for the game to land on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Yet, here we are today with a new look at the story and gameplay from Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League to try to entice us all back into the game and wanting to shell out our time and money to play. Let us all have a look at how things have changed now.
More or less, the story looks like it is still about the same as it was before. Brainiac has come in and taken over Metropolis and the Suicide Squad have been tasked with stopping that since the Justice League has now been compromised in all of that. In this new bit of the story, though, we do get to see how each of the members gets their new traversal equipment and why it is all tied to certain things. Mostly all tied back to Batman given that this is a Suicide Squad out of the Arkham titles, but still to give Harley the grapple option, Deadshot the rocket pack, Boomerang the speed of The Flash, and King Shark is just able to jump and climb very well. Mostly what we saw from before, just with a little more context in the mix.
Even as each of the members of the Suicide Squad gets their new movement, it looks as if they will also have to get new weapons and gear to take on these godlike beings out there too. This is something we had teased from before and looks like it is still the same only that each of the characters has some different abilities now that should make for the offline play to work just perfectly fine. Even if this one is still pushing for the online style of things. It does finally feel like this one will allow us to play like some of the other Batman games out there, while using some of the Arkham style of things to help the Suicide Squad along on their journey. It is all an improvement, but time will only tell how much of one it is.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League — Story & Gameplay
Warner Bros. Games and DC debuted an all-new video series providing a deeper look into Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, the upcoming third-person action-shooter in development by Rocksteady.
Entitled “Suicide Squad Insider,” the first episode dives into the game’s core gameplay mechanics, narrative elements, open-world Metropolis, and more. With insight and commentary provided by members of the Rocksteady team, the video explores the studio’s rich history of character-driven storytelling, which combines with a seamless fusion of traversal and combat to make Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League a distinct experience.
Additionally, Episode 1 touches on Metropolis, the expansive city of tomorrow that is brought to life in a way that hasn’t been seen before and full of familiar DC elements to discover. Viewers will also notice cameo appearances by actors Tara Strong (voice of Harley Quinn), Scott Porter (voice of The Flash), and Nuufolau Joel Seanoa a.k.a Samoa Joe (voice of King Shark) who offer thoughts on their respective characters and the game’s storyline.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League still looks and feels like the Avengers game to me. The bigger difference is that it looks like it might all be like the story missions from that game and not the basic grind that happened after that part of the game ended. It still feels like this is going to be a grind, and the way things are being offered again feels like we will get a lot of new updates and for free as long as the team is willing to work on this one. New characters and stories to play along the way. I know I would like to have more members on my Suicide Squad team here. But how much of a bonus that will all be is still yet to be seen. Hopes are there, though.
How do you feel about the changes here for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League? Does it still feel like it is going to be a live service title hidden behind some basic gameplay? Do you think that the extra story bits will be worth keeping us all around or will it all still become the same grind again and we watch as another big studio falters due to publisher greed? Head to the comments to discuss all of this and everything else we have on the site for the game. There is more to come for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, so please keep on checking back for all of those updates and many others as we head into the future.
