Vampire
The next playable vampire clan is out there for the upcoming Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 at launch
The next of the clans is finally revealed to us all and it looks like the Tremere will be playable from the start in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 now. Not the biggest of shocks out there as it is another of the easy clans to translate into a solid gameplay mechanic for The Chinese Room. As speculated in the previous updates, this would offer up a ranged build with the Brujah playing as the melee build. Even if the lore of the clan, like many others, offers up a vastly different experience based on how you want to play Vampire: The Masquerade. That is not why we are here, though, and now we can see half the playable clans that will be out there from the jump of it all. Get ready to dig into some fun blood magic now.
While I am sure they will touch on the lore of it all in the game, this vampire clan is all about tapping into the magic of the blood and using it to bend the wills of others and reality itself. As you can get a taste for, pun intended, in the following teaser of the clan. Those looking for a one-to-one comparison are most likely going to be let down, as it looks like the Tremere will have a mismatch of powers for the source material instead. Things like Telekinesis and summoning shards of blood to hurl at enemies are in there. Although, the latter never really was one of the core things they all could do in Vampire: The Masquerade, so it leans a bit more into the gameplay mechanic of ranged instead of trying to fully bring the umpteen spells and rituals an elder of the clan would have access to here.

Who Are The Tremere?
Clan Tremere embraces scholars, academics, researchers, and other relentless pursuers of knowledge. These Kindred have an obsession with blood and vitae — vampire Blood — beyond even that of other Kindred, an obsession that extends to its control. Whether the blood coursing through their enemies' veins, or a Tremere’s own vitae, a drop of red can turn into a deadly weapon in the hands of an experienced Warlock.
Playing A Tremere In Bloodlines 2
As a Tremere in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2, you use your arcane powers to control your own Blood and that of your foes. The play style is rewarding when keeping your distance in combat, making enemies scream in agony as you boil their blood, shaping your own vitae into projectiles, or even ripping the blood from their veins.
Given that this was the main clan we were supposed to play as in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 before it was scrapped and shipped to a new studio, it also makes sense this was going to be the case. Even if the look of the character is different than what was supposed to be in the mix. It feels like a good shift. As for the magic, I do hope that they leave things a little more on the open end when designing it all. I say this, and why I keep saying "at launch" for the clans, as the modding community used some of that game design to bring all of the clans to life in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines. While it would be nice to have the development team do this from the start, I get their resources and time are limited. That is why the fans would be more likely to get everything else from the true disciplines running in the game to all of the other options of clans outside of the four. One can keep the hope.
Are you glad to see the Tremere added to the vampire clan list here or were you holding out for another one? Do you think that the next ones will be the Toreador, Nosferatu, or Ventrue and could it be something other than the basics we know already? How do you think the game design is going to be when it comes to the modding community and will we see all of the clans in there down the line? Head into the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else that we have to share along the way out there. We will have more for Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 in the coming weeks, so please keep on checking back for all of those updates and all of the others we have to share along the way. I am sure you will be glad to see and hear about all of them.
