A larger-than-life but small-in-stature killer is on the way to Dead By Daylight, as Chucky is taking up the knife one more time to terrorize us all. The killer doll is hitting the game at the end of the month, November 28th, with Behaviour giving fans what they want and a little more. I will talk about that in a moment, but do know that when the killer hits Dead By Daylight on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC, it is going to tap into so much more of the IP than just Chucky. For starters, it looks like we will also be seeing Tiffany in the game to a capacity as well. If that is not a great tease, I am not sure what is anymore…
Now that the tease is out there, Dead By Daylight will only be getting the one killer and it looks as if the proper voice will be back in the mix for the character with Brad Douriff giving us all of the lines. Those looking to play as Tiffany, will be able to do so with a skin and voice swap with Jennifer Tilly offering up those vocals too. All so we can get the best of both worlds while making sure that the team does not need to fully build different characters in the mix. I mean, they both do kill in very similar ways and just doing a skin swap would be the best to get them in quickly for Dead By Daylight. I say all of this as a level of excitement and not to knock on the team at all. There is no reason to accidentally mess things up when a perfect solution is already right there. Have a look and see what the character will be bringing us all when he stalks on in.
Dead By Daylight — Chucky
Chucky, the infamous killer doll from the cult classic films as well as Universal Content Production’s hit series on USA & SYFY and STACKTV, is the newest Killer to step into The Fog in a new Dead By Daylight Chapter. Players would be remiss not to experience his playful cruelty on November 28 when the newest Dead By Daylight Chapter launches from Behaviour in collaboration with Universal Products and Experiences. Until then, those who dare can discover thrilling new gameplay mechanics that everyone’s favorite “Good Guy” brings into Trials in the time-limited public test build on Steam.
Players should not underestimate the power of this Killer, nor should they underestimate his foul mouth. With new lines voiced by none other than Chucky’s original voice actor Brad Dourif — a question emerges: what is more scathing, his knife or his tongue?
With effective tools for sneaking around the Map, Chucky is a force to be reckoned with, utilizing his Slice & Dice ability to lunge forward and attack unsuspecting Survivors. Though his height does have its limitations, Charles Lee Ray, in his human form, appears as a spirit to assist him in Hooking Survivors, as well as interrupting them while they’re Vaulting or Repairing.
On the other hand, his stature gives him an incredible advantage while hunting, forcing Survivors to always keep both eyes and ears open. His larger-than-life rage and pint-sized build let him vault through windows and under pallets allowing him to close in on his unsuspecting prey, unlike any other Killer before via his Scamper ability. From the iconic rat poisoning scene from Curse of Chucky, the deathly yardstick from Child’s Play 2, or even the electrifying TV from Bride of Chucky, there are a variety of add-ons inspired by iconic moments bringing the franchise to life while elevating action for players.
Players will be able to customize their little Killer through a series of terrifying outfits fit for only the most notorious of serial killers. In a unique twist, players can even go as far as customizing their Killer with The Good Gal outfit — inspired by Tiffany Valentine aka the Bride of Chucky, and voiced by the legendary Jennifer Tilly, this outfit brings Chucky’s other half to life like never before.
The Dead By Daylight: Chucky Chapter will be available on all supported platforms on November 28.
I am a fan of seeing that they are leaning into the height of Chucky as an advantage in Dead By Daylight here. It would be a great boon in general and it looks as if the team already knew this before adding too many to the character and potentially making them overpowered. I say that as we only have one core ability listed that will allow Chucky or Tiff to lunge quickly and catch the victims off-guard in Dead By Daylight. The rest will be on us to sneak and stalk our prey in the mix. Even if it would be nice to see Tiff also get the ability to use a nail file instead of a knife in the game. That or to clone themselves and lay motionless when needed to get those proper scares. Again, then it would be a little too powerful of a killer in the mix of things.
Are you glad to see and hear that Chucky is on the way to Dead By Daylight soon? Do you want to see the other skins of the character in the mix too or is it fine to have Chucky and Tiff be the options listed so far? What other ability do you think they should have or will the small stature be enough to sneak past everyone out there and get some glorious kills? Take to the comment section to discuss all of that and much more. There is always more to come for Dead By Daylight, and we will have it all here for you as best we can. Please keep on checking back in for all of that and much, much more as we head further into the lifecycle of this game and DLC it keeps pumping out there.
