Paranoid
See some of the new gameplay for Paranoid as we figure out what is part of Patrick’s Paranoid Schizophrenia
The release date for Paranoid is not too far off at this point and we have had some fun looks at the game before now, but it looks as if we are having one of our craziest looks at it all now. Madmind Studios has opted to give us a massive amount of gameplay to sift through just before the PC release of the game on December 15th. Gameplay that takes us all for a little night walk around the world of Paranoid we will be exploring as well as some of the gameplay features we might not have known were going to be part of it all. Not to mention to make us further question the reality of it all when all is said and done out there. Let us get ready to dig right into it all.
One would be easy to assume that Paranoid was going to be kind of like a walking simulation with a few other things mixed in. As it all looks, there is going to be a lot of melee combat in the mix as well as many perspective puzzles for us all to solve. This is all shown in the following twenty-three minutes of gameplay we have to enjoy for Paranoid. I say that, as there could be so much more in the mix that we do not get to see here. This is just one of the paths we get to go down, as the other option is to not leave the building and deal with things there instead of wandering out to go pick up our meds. An interesting twist to things and I will just let you have a look at it all now instead of just going on.
Paranoid — Nightwalk Gameplay
Madmind Studios invites you to take a terrifying nighttime stroll through the city! The new material presents a portion of the city where the main character lives, as well as his desperate attempt to reach the pharmacy to purchase medication that alleviates the symptoms of schizophrenia.
The protagonist, suffering from Paranoid Schizophrenia, will have to make a difficult decision – whether to stay home without medication and uncover the dark secret of his neighbor. Or should he buy the medicine and meet his missing sister, who has given a sign of life for the first time in ten years?
Paranoid will allow players to determine the course of Patrick’s story. Depending on the choices, the player will lock themselves in their apartment with their demons or venture into the city, discovering an alternative course of events. The game can be completed in two ways, showing how the simple decision to stay or leave the apartment profoundly affects the protagonist’s fate.
Both game paths are equally significant and rich in content.
The full version of the game will be released on December 15, 2023, on PC.
The game tells the story of Patrick Calman, a 31-year-old man who lost his entire family in mysterious circumstances – his parents died brutally, and his sister suddenly disappeared for unknown reasons. The trauma of losing loved ones shattered Patrick’s psyche and turned his apartment into a prison.
The only member of Patrick’s family left alive is his sister, who disappeared more than 10 years ago. One day, he receives a phone call, and the voice in the receiver seems to belong to his lost sibling. She announces her arrival – several years after her disappearance. The whole event forces Patrick to break his previous life of isolation, exposing himself to nightmarish experiences bordering on madness.

While the gameplay for Paranoid does look like a basic title with a dark skin slapped over it all, I am curious to find out if we are actually defending ourselves in the game or if we are actually attacking others. That would lean a bit more into the mental health aspect of it all and the fact that some of the enemies do look like they are moving into defensive poses makes it feel like we are being the aggressor but the game only has us defending ourselves. I know that would make me paranoid out there in the world and not want to even cross the street to go pick up my meds too. All of it was a little more cerebral than I would have expected for this one, but something I am glad to see the team mixing in.
Were you expecting all of this out of Paranoid and is it a true sign that the team is only getting better with each title they drop out there? Will the twist be that we are going on a psychotic break and do not realize it or is there something driving the enemies to attack us in the first place? How many other perspective puzzles will we have to see in the game and will they lead to some bigger mind-bending moments in the game? Wander down into the comment section to discuss all of this and more. When we have more for Paranoid, we will share it all with you here. Please keep your eyes glued to the site to hear and learn more about all of the video games we have coming out there.
