RIPOUT
The early access for RIPOUT is out there and we have one more quick look at RIPOUT before being able to dig into it all
The time has finally come for those looking to experience RIPOUT on the PC. The Early Access has finally kicked off and we can get a taste of what Pet Project Games is building toward as well as have a nice little horror title in the mix for Halloween. A Sci-Fi horror for those who need to have the specific genre set, but one nonetheless. One that will get us ready for RIPOUT, make the game better, and then make its full way to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S down the line too. Just as we would all expect in the modern era of video games and how the smaller team development usually goes. There does not seem to be any going back at this point.
While this might not be the full version of RIPOUT to enjoy just yet, we are going to have a whole lot in the game to explore and enjoy. A good portion of the PvE gameplay and scalable difficulties will be in there for us to test out. The latter thing being one of the features I have always been curious about up to now. Then we will see the pet gun and the many other customization options in the mix. All while going through what RIPOUT has to offer with action and horror in the FPS style. It is going to be loud and it is going to be explosive. We only need to hope that it keeps the momentum going until it hits out there on all of the platforms and in a final mode. We will just need to wait and see.
RIPOUT — Early Access Launch
3D Realms and Pet Project Games are thrilled to announce that RIPOUT, the co-op sci-fi horror FPS, is available now in Steam Early Access. Prepare to face the terrors of the future as you awaken from cryogenic slumber to find ships once occupied by humans have been taken over by mutated monsters. Face down mutant horrors alone or form a squad of up to 3 players and tear down monstrous enemies as you piece together what happened and search for Sanctuary, the last bastion of humanity.
RIPOUT’s early access version includes the majority of features, most enemy types, and cooperative gameplay. During the early access period, the game will see several content updates that include a variety of new features such as new enemies and weapons, new missions, and a lot more based on the feedback received by the community.
Face off against mutant monstrosities transformed by Cell, a human-made biological weapon that has turned its sights on its creators, able to adapt their bodies in grotesque ways. Use your trusty biomechanical Pet Gun to gain a tactical advantage over your enemies by ripping weaponry off them while exploring procedurally generated derelict spaceships, collecting loot, and customizing your character to survive whatever dangers lurk around the corner.
Features:
- Cooperative PVE Gameplay: Embark on a variety of missions and explore derelict ships alone or in small teams. Be ready to rip apart a massive variety of genetically altered monsters, capable of strengthening and reconfiguring their bodies by attaching smaller mutants to them.
- Living Pet Gun: Don’t hold back as you use your trusty Pet Gun and harness the power of the sentient biotech for yourself and turn it against your foes.
- Weapon Modifications And Character Classes: Customize your weapon and choose between multiple character specializations to find the perfect mix for your play style.
- Endless Action: Explore countless ships in quick, action-packed missions which will leave you guessing what horrors lurk around the corners. Thanks to RIPOUT’s procedurally generated level design, you’ll enjoy endless replayability.
- Scalable Difficulty: Expect a challenge for teams of all sizes, thanks to RIPOUT's scaling difficulty.
As I mentioned, I am ready to fully dive into what we have here in the Early Access for RIPOUT. Before now, I completely spaced on some of the gameplay features and aspects that were pitched in the game from the start, and am ready to see and experience where they are now. The pet gun is one that I am still shocked did not stick in my head up to now either. Unless there was some weird time paradox thing that happened and RIPOUT became something cooler than it was before. At least in my memory. This is also why I am ready to dive right in and give the Early Access a go. Something I am normally not down to do in general, but here we go with it all.
Did you have different memories for RIPOUT there or does this all sum up what you have been waiting for? Will the Early Access truly help the game development or just a way to keep the studio afloat as they wrap it all up for the final release? Could this all be a way to truly get that scalable difficulty dialed in and we are just further beta testing the game in general? Take to the comments and fire off that discussion out there. There is more to come for RIPOUT, definitely, so please keep on checking in here to see and hear all of those updates as they come. I am sure you will be glad about all of that. Not to mention to see the gameplay we are going to dig into once we can share it all with you.
