Alone In The Dark
The new Alone In The Dark is going to be a bit further out now with the recent delay announcement for Alone In The Dark
Just when we thought we were going to be seeing Alone In The Dark back out there on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this October… we find out that we are going to have to wait a bit longer. Yes, sadly, we have a delay on the way to us all from Pieces Interactive for the game and it will now no longer be hitting the Halloween season out there. Even if it would be the perfect time for Alone In The Dark to land out there. At least we have a reason behind the delay being something other than the usual generic reasons behind it all for once. Something that could help make this delay hit a little less hard as we wait for January 16th, 2024 for the game.
So, as it all goes, Alone In The Dark has been delayed so we, and the game, will not need to compete with all of the other larger titles coming out during the time. Alan Wake 2 and Spider-Man 2 being called out directly in the announcement update we have for this. One of them makes a bit of sense when it comes to Alone In The Dark but the other, not so much. Outside of the fact that it could draw more players to it and leave this title alone. So, this is not for more "polish" or anything like that, but for us to be able to fully appreciate the game and not have to make any hard choices on which title we are going to play.
Horror games thrive on the delicate balance of tension, exploiting our vulnerability and the eerie embrace of solitude. Envision yourself traversing a dimly lit house in the dead of night, where faint whispers and unidentifiable noises send shivers down your spine. Now, picture this unsettling scenario not alone, but accompanied by a group of 28 intriguing individuals. The fear factor dwindles, doesn't it? Hence, the anticipated release of Alone In The Dark will gracefully step away from the chaotic October 2023 launch window.
Pieces Interactive's intentions are to avoid competing with the wake of Alan's epic release and to evade the dazzling skyline of cities adorned by the graceful swings of Spider-Man. We aim to truly remain as Alone In The Dark as possible. To honor this, the spine-chilling horror game has been rescheduled to unveil its horrors on January 16th, 2024. This extension will serve a dual purpose: not only will it permit us to meticulously perfect the gaming experience, but it will also grant us the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the remarkable releases of October.
Alone In The Dark is a love letter to the ground-breaking original that lets you experience a haunting story through the eyes of one of the two protagonists: play as either Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood in this re-imagination of the classic survival horror game where Psychological Horror meets Southern Gothic. Explore your environments, fight monsters, solve puzzles, and uncover the uneasy truth of Derceto Manor…
Deep in the 1920's South, Emily Hartwood's uncle has gone missing. Together with private investigator Edward Carnby, she embarks on a journey to Derceto Manor, a home for the mentally ill where something is lurking. You'll encounter strange residents, nightmarish realms, and dangerous monsters, and ultimately uncover the plot of rising evil. At the intersection of reality, mystery, and insanity, an adventure awaits that will change your core beliefs. Who can you trust, what will you believe, and what will you do next?
Alone In The Dark is developed by Pieces Interactive in Sweden and will be coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on January 16th, 2024.

I fully understand the want and need to delay Alone In The Dark in this way. While I know many of us would be able to make the time to play all of the video games out there in the long run, this is definitely a better choice for them. Not only that, but it sounds as if they are going to be using this extra time for Alone In The Dark to make sure it comes out with as few bugs as possible too. Even if I do not think there is ever a month where we do not have a bunch of video games out there to compete with. The new year will make it a little easier, sure, but we have been getting flooded out there recently and this excuse is only going to get to work for so long out there.
Are you shocked by the fact that Alone In The Dark has been delayed out there or does this make perfect sense? Do you think we would have had enough time to fully experience all of the video games out there in October or will this be the best option for us and the studio? Will January get flooded out there soon with more titles or will it stay open for us all to experience out there? Feel free to let the world know what you are thinking about all of this in the comment section. We will offer up more for Alone In The Dark as soon as we get something to update with. Please keep on coming back for those updates and more.
