Hellboy
New gameplay for Hellboy Web Of Wyrd is here to show off one more location that Hellboy will be clearing out
Slowly but surely, we are going to get a full feel for how Hellboy Web Of Wyrd is going to play out there in terms of gameplay. We have had a whole lot of the voice and look at the art, but it feels as if Upstream Arcade is only slowly releasing actual gameplay to the world as we all wait with bated breath. That or they are truly this deep in development for Hellboy Web Of Wyrd that there just is not much of a solid version of the project to show at this point. There still is not a solid release date for the game on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC, so I am going to err on that side of things and keep the best hopes going for it all.
That said, we have one more little gameplay clip from this Hellboy title to look at and get amped up for. A new clip that feels a lot like the last one, which is a little telling for the way the gameplay is going to flow out there, but it does show off a different location and enemy that Hellboy is going to have to face off against. All in the same comic panel style and it feels like a mixture of action brawling and fighting game in the mix. This is why it is still so very confusing, but it could also just be how the video is edited to keep things obfuscated for us at launch but try to give a feeling of how the combat and exploration of the game will function. Have a look at it just below.
Hellboy Web Of Wyrd — Butterfly House Gameplay
Explore the enigmatic Butterfly House and uncover the secrets of the Wyrd in this action-brawler roguelite from Upstream Arcade and Good Shepherd Entertainment!
Hellboy Web Of Wyrd is a rogue-lite action adventure with an original story created in partnership with Dark Horse Comics and creator Mike Mignola.
Featuring monstrous toe-to-toe brawling, you need to chain together hard-hitting melee and ranged attacks to fight a diverse array of increasingly nightmarish enemies.
Like the comics, the game sends Hellboy on a series of vastly different and wholly unique adventures. While those stories stand on their own, they are all tied to the mysterious legacy of The Butterfly House. When an agent of the B.P.R.D. is sent on a reconnaissance mission to the mansion and promptly goes missing. It’s up to you - Hellboy - and your team of Bureau agents to find your missing colleague and uncover the secrets of The Butterfly House.
Welcome to the Butterfly House, a mysterious manor of perverse angles and non-Euclidean geometry built by occultist Pasquale Deneveaux to open a gateway to the Wyrd, a vast, interdimensional web of wondrous and horrifying planes of existence beyond our world. When a B.P.R.D. agent vanishes inside the mansion, it’s up to Hellboy and his team of agents to uncover its forbidden secrets.
Journey into the deepest realms of the Wyrd, each hiding a unique investigation into the unknown. Battle powerful creatures in search of forgotten god forms and magnificent treasures, but beware: ancient evil festers within the Wyrd’s darkest reaches… evil that wants out.

If I had to put money on it, I have a feeling that Hellboy Web Of Wyrd is going to end up being more of a brawler type of game with the roguelite elements mixed right in. Some of these edits feel like it is just for the trailer or a slide from a cinematic scene into the actual combat of the game. Something that may just end up being a button-mashing extravaganza once we are in the mix and our Hellboy is putting the beat down on the various supernatural creatures and beings out there. It does beg the question of if we are going to see any of the firearms or other abilities that Red is normally known for here in the game. Just give us a nice, long, unedited bit of gameplay to put all of this to rest, please.
Do you think we will get the full Hellboy we know from the comics or films or will this one be downgraded a bit to fit the gameplay style we are seeing? Do you suspect it is the video editing that is throwing things off on the feel of the gameplay or has this been short unedited clips already? When do you suspect we will see the full launch of the game out there? Head into the comment section and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to do. We will share more for Hellboy Web Of Wyrd as soon as we can, so please keep on checking in for all of that and everything else we have to offer up along the way.
