Turbo Overkill
A slight delay for Turbo Overkill is here as the team gears up to drop the final build of Turbo Overkill on us
Those that have been enjoying the Early Access for Turbo Overkill and looking forward to the pending full launch of it on July 18th… are going to have to hold off on some of that excitement here. The game is not going away or anywhere as of yet, but it looks as if Trigger Happy Interactive needs just a bit longer to make sure the 1.0 build is ready for market. Along with the fact that Apogee Entertainment is making sure that the team behind Turbo Overkill is also taken care of for the launch. Now the launch of this update will be on August 11th. So just a little more waiting.
The interesting part of this slight delay for Turbo Overkill is that it is not for the usual reasons we are given for so many games. No, the reason for this delay is that the lead developer of the game just had a child and the parties involved are making sure there is as much time with the newborn as possible. A nice little twist and shows how some of the game's developers and publishers would rather see their employees happy and healthy instead of working to the bone. If only more studios and companies would take note of what is going on for Turbo Overkill in that way. For this, I am more than willing to wait an extra month to play the final part of the game.
Turbo Overkill — The Final Episode
Turbo Overkill, the critically acclaimed, hyper-fast-paced cyberpunk boomer shooter from publisher Apogee Entertainment and developer Trigger Happy Interactive, postpones the epic finale of Johnny’s harrowing journey to Friday, August 11, 2023, so the lead developer can spend more time with his newborn baby. FAMILY FIRST!
Scour the scum-littered streets of Paradise on a mission to wipe out relentless cybernetic super soldiers, and put a stop to the evil AI dead-set on destroying the world. Blaze a bloody trail of carnage as Johnny Turbo, and reach the climactic conclusion of the epic narrative with the debut of the second half of The Final Episode.
Commandeer the half-man, half-machine dynamo through two dozen high-octane levels packed with hidden items and high-intensity combat.
Blast brainwashed enemies to smithereens with an over-the-top arsenal of high-powered weapons like the Twin Magnums, Waster Shotgun, Micro Missiles, and Chainsaw Legs (and arms!)
Devastate foes in ultra fast-paced gibtastic combat, racking up gnarly kill combos for maximum points and achievements. Scour the neon-lit alleys for rare loot and exchange ill-gotten currency for souped-up weapons.
Wreak havoc against bounty hunters across the world with online multiplayer, and put a custom spin on Paradise with full mod support.
Turbo Overkill launches its 1.0 build on Steam for PC on August 11.
Was this the delay you thought you would see here for Turbo Overkill or is it a nice one to see here? Do you think it is more to allow the developer to be around for the full launch or is there part of the game that was still in the stages of work before the baby came along? When will all of the other companies start doing this more so we can have a better work-to-life ratio out there? Discuss all of that in the comment section below and maybe we can get balls rolling again. If we get more to share for Turbo Overkill, it will be on the site for you. Please keep coming back to see and hear about all of that as we head on into the future out there.
