Shame Legacy Gives Us A Feel For How Hard Escaping The Cult Will Be

Shame Legacy

Gameplay for Shame Legacy is here to give us a better feel on if Shame Legacy will be just a walking sim

Hold on to your hats, here we go with some new gameplay for Shame Legacy to take in before the May 30th release on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Sure, Fairyship Games and Destructive Creations have given us little looks at the game before now, but here we go with some higher action to take in. Action that shows just how hard it will be to escape the cult we found ourselves in when we spin Shame Legacy up. Usually, this is something where the walking-sim horror game shows the weird and scary. In this case, it looks as if we will have a little more to do in the game beyond running and figuring out puzzles that would never work in the real world.

As you will be able to see in this new gameplay for Shame Legacy, it looks like we will have the basics these games offer up. A scary location, sneaking and hiding from enemies, and finding weird items out there to use in weird ways for locks and doors. It is interesting to see that we will have the option to fight back against certain enemies in the game as we are running for our lives. At least in one instance in Shame Legacy that is going to happen, but it feels like it will be more. That is something similar games like this seem to remove so as to save on developing any form of combat in the game. It is a good choice and can work in those instances, but when we see a flight or fight scene play out in a game like this, it is nice to know we can have that option and it will not specifically be the end of our run if we do opt to engage.

Shame Legacy — Gameplay

Building on the previous Announcement Trailer, this newest Gameplay Trailer introduces the cane – a valuable device used for defensive purposes and puzzle-solving, allowing the main character to get closer to figuring out his connection to the bloody events in the village. The trailer also uncovers more locations, showcasing the dark mood and atmosphere of the 19th-century forsaken cultist village.

In Shame Legacy, you attempt to survive the chase of enraged cultists by using stealth and escape mechanics. Meanwhile, an eerie danger looms over…

Waking up confused in a 19th-century equivalent of an anger management convention, you quickly realize that: 1. A hunt is taking place, 2. You’re the prey they’re after. The legacy of your family seems to have caught up to you, but maybe not in the way you'd expect. Apparently, an inheritance doesn't always mean fancy yachts.

If you hope to get to the bottom of it all, you’ve got to move silently and avoid contact. The villagers are all over the place, looking for you. And they're damn fast if they see or hear you… Your mental ability will come in handy when solving puzzles. So will your cane, which also serves as your defense weapon to fend off attacking villagers.

Getting detected isn’t the end of the world if you’re fast enough and can keep your nerves in check. Having just woken up, the village doctor would have some harsh things to say about your health status and stress resistance. If you find yourself close to the edge, there's always relief to be found. Disclaimer: this isn't a drug commercial.

Were you expecting something different to play out here for Shame Legacy or is it exciting to see things will be shaken up? Will we always have the chance to fight back or will it be specific scenes only? Will there be a reason behind some of the weirder puzzles or will we just need to overlook that to have a better game? Take to the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to do. There will be more for Shame Legacy on the site, so please keep checking back in for all of those updates and everything else along the way.
