Killer Frequency Is Releasing Soon And On A Few More Platforms

Killer Frequency

The release date for Killer Frequency is set for this June with Killer Frequency hitting pretty much all platforms out there

Here we go with another fun simulator coming out to us with Killer Frequency getting a release date set down. Not only a release date but as it turns out, Team17 is looking to bring it all to a wider audience in the mix too. Given that Killer Frequency is all about being a radio DJ that is trying to help callers survive a serial killer out there, that makes much more sense. So, if you did not want to just play the game on the PC or on Meta Quest 2, you will also get to add in the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch too. Pretty much all of them out there and all on June 1st. A nice and massive announcement to have in the mix of things here.

Now that we all know who will be able to get a chance to experience Killer Frequency and when we can have a look at a little more gameplay just a little lower down. All due to the fact that we are going to need to keep our show going too while trying to help out those callers too. It looks like we will have to spin records and kill some time by shooting hoops too. Even if it looks like some of the basics of Killer Frequency might be more on the mundane in the mix. Something fitting for a good VR title too, since we are going to be in a chair for a good portion of the game too. Now we just get to wonder if we will get to experience it all on the other VR platforms to keep the gameplay flowing.

Killer Frequency — Release Date & Console Announcement

Team17 Digital has announced that its upcoming, in-house developed black comedy slasher-adventure, Killer Frequency, will be arriving on Steam and Meta Quest 2 on 1st June. Also revealed is that console players will be able to tune in too, with Killer Frequency launching on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox on the same day.

Set during the 1980s in a Midwestern US town where a serial killer is on the loose, Killer Frequency follows Forrest Nash, a washed-up DJ, and presenter of the ‘The Scream’ late-night show, as he tries to help listeners and callers stalked by a mysterious masked murderer.

As the gruesome night unfolds, interact with callers to the show using a variety of conversation options while listening carefully for clues and information, solve puzzles around the studio that could help prevent their grisly demise, and keep the show going with tunes inspired by the decade. In Killer Frequency, death can come easy but is never assured, so it’s up to you to help Forrest prevent the slaughter, discover the killer’s true identity, and keep the grooves going until dawn.

Killer Frequency Key Features:

  • Stay On Air: Take control of the switchboard and explore an authentic 1980s radio studio as you guide the fates of your late-night listeners stalked by a mysterious killer
  • Stop The Slaughter: Take calls from potential victims while gathering clues, making decisions, and solving satisfying puzzles that could help each caller survive the night
  • Unmask The Killer: Interact with a variety of larger-than-life personalities including callers, potential suspects, and a charismatic producer while jamming to a jukebox of 1980s-inspired tunes
  • All Can Live Or Die: Choose from a variety of conversation options to interact with callers – will you guide them to safety or broadcast their last moments live on air?
  • Play On Flatscreen & In VR: Built from the ground-up for Meta Quest 2 at 72 frames-per-second for a latency-free experience, and available in flatscreen mode on Steam and consoles.

Are you overly surprised that we will be seeing Killer Frequency on so many platforms now or should that have been expected for it? Could we see the other VR platforms getting the game on them too or will it only be Meta Quest 2? How well will this gameplay on all of the platforms out there or will there be some massive differences between all of them as we have seen many times before? Take those thoughts and feelings into the comment section below and then feel free to discuss it all. There should be more for Killer Frequency in the coming weeks to build up to the launch, and we will share what we can on the site for you. Please keep a close eye on it all and everything else we have to share.
