Microsoft Opening XBL For Users To Create Own Games
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 22nd of July 2008 - 06:46 PM ]
Think you have what it takes to build your own game for Xbox Live, and can do better than what is out there now?  Well now you can, as Microsoft has announced that XNA Game Studio software will be made available to gamers who yearn to create their own video games.  Micorsoft already had a trial run of the XNA Creators Club games earlier this year which featured "Little Gamers", "Culture", "Jellycar", "The Dishwasher" and others.  MS has plans to introduce the XBox Live Community Games this holiday season to XBL Marketplace. Microsoft unveiled in their plan that you will be able to have your games added to the XBL Marketplace, for a price of 200 to 800 points, after passing a peer review, as well as take home a cut of the total revenue the game makes, which MS claims to be up to 70% in a form of a quarterly check. What I Missed
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 15th of July 2008 - 02:05 PM ]
So due to real life BS, I missed out on reporting a few new and cool things yesterday, so I am going to hook up the cut now. Gotta thank one of my favorite sites to keep things up to date for me when that shit happens. But enough about me, here's what you really want to read about. Halo Wars: Two New Clips So due out early next year, is the new Halo RTS. I'm sure you Halo fans have already eaten all of this stuff up. But below is a very nice looking, pre-rendered, video for the game giving a bit of the story the RTS will revolve around. Read More...

FFXIII coming to the Xbox (FINALLY)
by Andy [ Monday, 14th of July 2008 - 02:59 PM ]
After numerous reports that FFXIII would NOT be on the Xbox 360, it seems that they were all wrong. Finally Final Fantasy is coming to the Xbox 360, you may ask what this means? Well sorry Sony, it seems that your exclusive Final Fantasy franchise has come to an end. To top it all off, it will be released the same day as the PS3 version. Why I like this is because if for whatever reason the PS3 version sells out, I can at least get the Xbox version or vice versa. I also think this means that we are finally starting to see exclusives go out the window. Read More...

Netflix comes to the Xbox 360
by Andy [ Monday, 14th of July 2008 - 02:48 PM ]
Today at E3, Microsoft has finally announced the partnership with Netflix. You may ask what this means. Well what this means is that now you will be able to stream movies from Netflix right to your TV through the Xbox 360. Now the best part about this, is that it costs you nothing if you already have a Netflix account. Why this is great? This means no more DVDs in the mail, and that also means you dont have to return the DVDs just to get your new movies. Read More...

by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 24th of April 2008 - 05:49 PM ]
Earlier this month at THQ's Gamery Day '08 event, THQ debuted three new Saints Row 2 trailers featuring wild man himself, Gary Busey. Each trailer showcases new features in Saints Row 2 and has Uncle Gary bringing you along for the ride. Warning to those not familiar with Gary Busey, he is a great actor, but a freaking nut job. So enjoy the trailers and the antics of Sir Busey. Read More...

Sick Children Will Soon PWN More
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 23rd of April 2008 - 12:21 PM ]
360 Kiosks Coming to Children's Hospitals I'll be first to say I am not a huge fan of Microsoft, but there are some times when I have to swallow my pride I said Pride you pervs. :) and give them the kudos they deserve some times. This is yet another one of those times. Why? Because they are actually teaming up with Companions in Courage to hook up the cut for Children's hospitals. What is that slang I said? Microsoft is helping out by giving 360 kiosks to be placed into hospitals for children. Read More...

PWN Your XBox Heat

Water Cooled 360 So here is something completely random I came across while searching for fun stuff to inform you all about. A Water Cooled 360 mod. Yes, you saw and read right. It is a fully functional mod to water cool the system. The best part, the link below actually gives you the step by step to actually do the mod yourself at home. If you are interested, click it cause I'm not going to go into details about it here. Just a word to the wise though, I'm sure that it will violate the warranty for the system, so you run that risk. Hammer Comes Down On Xbox Live Cheaters We all hate cheaters don't we? We all like to have a good laugh at someone when they get busted right? Its funny cause it's not me is a great saying. Well Microsoft is giving us two awesome things then. They are cracking down on cheaters or those who tamper with their Gamerscore and Achievements. How they are cracking down is listed below, but the best part is the sample they gave of how the account will be labeled on their community pages and the in dash views. I almost cried laugh at first. Loads Of Band Stuff
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of March 2008 - 12:31 PM ]
Rock Band Multiple Updates Ok, so instead of doing a bunch of different write-ups on this topic, I figured I would just lump them all together into one. 3 is a charm here. First, Rock Band just announced that they have sold over 6 million DLC songs since the games release. That of course is just insane to think about. At least to me. I probably wouldn't have believed it if it wasn't for the press release that they sent out about it all. Read More...

Everything Is So....Bluuuuuuu...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 8th of March 2008 - 05:47 PM ]
Sony Is In Talk About Blu-Ray For Other Machines So after the striking blow to HD-DVD Drive, from Toshiba and backed up with Circuit City, Sony looks like they are trying to help spread their tech out there. Like before, they are talking about making the Blu-Ray player available on all formats. Of course this has to be one of those ego things for Sony, but tey aren't leaving anyone behind. This claim came from Stan Glasgow and he states that they are in discussions about this whole thing. So hopefully we will see some good come out of this whole "Format War" soon. Read More...

Issues With A Bully?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 6th of March 2008 - 05:02 PM ]
Rockstar Apologizes For And Is Working On 360 Bully Now that I've suckered you into the article, time to mess you up. I'll try not to mess you up as bad as Rockstar has made it seem that they have messed up. Apparently their testing and QA department didn't catch all of the bugs in the game before release. Let me list them for you: Serious frame rate issues Audio glitches Freezing At least those are the ones reported thus far. Sam Houser had this to say about the whole things to boot. Read More...
