SDCC Experience: The Walking Dead Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 31st of July 2014 - 03:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead Escape was back at SDCC giving all of us a feel for what a Survival Horror game really feels like For the third year running (pun intended) I was able to experience The Walking Dead Escape at SDCC. I broke down what it was all about before but I'll give the quick version just in case you are lazy. In a nut shell it is a real world survival horror event that tests if you could escape from one end of a location, Petco Park in this case, to the other without being swarmed by the undead horde. The Walking Dead Escape of course using portions of the AMC show, comic books, and video games to theme everything. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 30th of July 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
The first trailer for Halo: Nightfall was shown at SDCC and we have it here for all to see If you happen to be one of those Halo fans who don't have enough time to dedicate to hunting down details on Halo: Nightfall then let us hook you up. The first look and trailer for the new show was shown during SDCC and we just happen to have hunted it down for your viewing pleasure. We mentioned before on one of the main actors and roles for Halo: Nightfall but now we have a good look at everything in action. Like I said though, this is mainly for those who couldn't dedicate the time hunting around as all of you hardcore Halo fans probably have all of the words to the clip memorized forwards and backwards by now. SDCC 2014 Impressions: Escape Dead Island
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 30th of July 2014 - 03:00 PM ]
While At SDCC I Got To See Escape Dead Island In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It It seems like I should have had to wait a bit longer to get a look at Escape Dead Island as it was only announced a month ago but I'll take it none the less. Especially since Escape Dead Island seems to be taking the amazing universe and changing a lot of the mechanics that we are used to and changing them or removing them to fit this new take on Dead Island. Without any further gilding the lily here, let's dig right in. For those not familiar with Escape Dead Island it is sort of an in-between-quel from Dead Island: Riptide and Dead Island 2; although all you really need to know are the basics of the universe's story to be able to hop on in. Here Is The Extended Tekken 7 Trailer Straight Out Of SDCC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 29th of July 2014 - 01:00 PM ]
The extended trailer for Tekken 7 was shown at SDCC this year and we have it here for you to see Well I guess Namco kept their promise of showing more of Tekken 7 at SDCC this year. Although I am pretty sure this was not what fans of the franchise were looking forward to when said promise was made. In fact, if I was as rabid of a fan for Tekken as I am for other franchises I would be a little put out and upset with such a tease. That is all because nothing more than a very small bit of Tekken 7's story has been released surrounded by the same visuals we already had. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of July 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming Well this has been one crazy week in the gaming world. I blame it mostly on SDCC and all of the craziness that brings with it. It is way more than just comics and their other forms of media outlets. We've been trying to keep up with everything we can while covering all of the stuff on the show floor directly but it can get insanely overwhelming. But I am not here to complain about all of that. I am here to bring you all that gaming news I know you are craving to sink your eye balls into. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 24th of July 2014 - 01:00 PM ]
New images and details about Halo: Nightfall have emerged from SDCC showing off the actor charged with portraying him I know all of you Halo fans out there are probably losing your shit right now as the announcement of the closure of Xbox Entertainment Studios could have rocked the boat for Halo: Nightfall. Well the good news is that at least this project doesn't look to be affected by the closure announcement. That is basically because we now have a good look at one of the main characters that will be in the show as well as Halo 5: Guardians. Read More...

Here is a look at the Assassin's Creed Experience obstacle course set up for SDCC So if you can't make it to SDCC this week or just San Diego in general here is what that Assassin's Creed Experience is going to look like. Not only do we have an image of the course but Ubisoft has put together a nice little video showing off what convention goers will get to run though all for the fun and an exclusive shirt at the end. Here is a look at all of that Assassin's Creed Experience goodness from an aerial view. I am completely stoked that I will be able to get a chance to put my gaming skills to the real test with the Assassin's Creed Experience. Read More...

Unleash Your Inner Assassin At SDCC With Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Experience
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 16th of July 2014 - 03:00 PM ]
Ubisoft is setting up a Parkour obstacle course for those at SDCC to hone their Assassin's Creed skills in real life It really looks like The Walking Dead Escape started something at SDCC as it looks like Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed are now bringing their real world video game experience to the convention with the Assassin's Creed Experience. What is the Assassin's Creed Experience? Well it is an obstacle course that is set up to have participants try out their parkour skills that they would need if they were part of the order of assassin's from the game. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of July 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming There goes one more week of gaming news in the bag. It felt like a very directed week for gaming news if you do ask me but then again we give you what we get. Also when we get it…as long as it fits in our theme of gaming news here on the site. Granted not all of the news we have is 100% gaming related but that is splitting hairs where we don't need to be. Back to my "directed" comment. Read More...

Nerdist Is Taking Us Into The Borderlands At SDCC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 10th of July 2014 - 05:02 PM ]
Just announced as part of the outside SDCC events is the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel laser tag arena hosted by Nerdist Not to be left out of the fun of SDCC in now Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel brought to us by Carl's Jr 2K Games and Nerdist. It looks as if they didn't want to miss out on the fun of having something like The Walking Dead Escape at the convention this year so they are bringing us a Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel themed Laser Tag arena for fans to go crazy Broadway style in. Maybe I should say "go crazy Borderlands style" instead but to each their own. During the entire convention we will all be able to be in the Borderlands co-op via laser tag from 11am to 5pm. The Walking Dead Escape Is Again Letting Us Play A Survival Game At SDCC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of July 2014 - 03:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead Escape is coming back to San Diego Comic Con for a third year and is allowing us gamers to try to survive a zombie apocalypse game in real life If there has been one thing that has caught my love over the last few years at San Diego Comic Con it has to be The Walking Dead Escape. If you haven't seen or heard of it or seen it you can see my 2013 run and my 2012 run or you can just look around online as the event is still touring around the country giving all of us gamers a chance to test our mettle in a real live zombie apocalypse of sorts. If you are just one of those lazy people here I'll recap what the event is all about. In a nut shell they people who put on the event take over an arena, mall, or large building structure and do it and its surroundings up as if it was a location from The Walking Dead show or comic. What's The Good News From SDCC For Batman: Arkham Origins?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of July 2013 - 02:15 PM ]
Well, not that much that we have not seen or heard from E3 will answer that question. It makes sense that Batman: Arkham Origins would be on display at the San Diego Comic Con but you would think that there would be some kind of information dump that wasn't handed out a month prior. I guess it is more about getting the information out to the public directly and not through the filtered lenses of the media. Who knows? While I don't think much was shown on the floor or during their panel, there were a few little tidbits and a new trailer shown for the latest assassin, Copperhead, hunting The Bat. Read More...
