Aggrocast Ep 37: An Evening With Raychul
by Michael Camacho [ Monday, 3rd of August 2009 - 11:10 AM ]
On Episode 37 of the Aggrocast, we are joined by Raychul of GameGirl.com, Gametopia, and the Gamer's Garage podcast. She talks to us about her recent trip to San Diego Comic-Con 2009 and her experiences of cosplaying as Cammy for the Capcom Booth. We also discuss the sudden lack of comics being hyped up at Comic-Con, the reasons why and what can be done to restore the reason Comic-Con was created. Michael also discusses his time at a local Street Fighter IV Tournament in Rockville, MD that was held by 355 Scion and JC Media. We also cover the games we've been playing, our weekly bargain bin selections, and recent results of Pwned. Read More...

Comic Con Issue #03
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 1st of August 2009 - 11:54 PM ]
Saturday: Heroes, Zombies, and Tron. Oh My! Reaching the mid-way point in the who convention, you would think that some of the best stuff would have already been done and shown. This is when things would start dying down and the end of it all starts to settle in. This couldn't be further from the truth on this day. A day where we were invited to check out what Activision and Capcom were showing off to the world. Some behind closed doors. Read More...

Comic Con Issue #2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 30th of July 2009 - 05:31 PM ]
Friday: XBox and PlayStation Day After fixing the few technical issues with Issue #1, we move onto the next day. A day dedicated primarily to what two of the largest companies and platforms brought to show off the gaming world. PlayStation and Xbox in case you couldn't figure it out. For some reason Nintendo was completely void of the con, outside of the companies showing off Wii and DS games they have coming out. But that's not the point here. We got to see a few things, meet a few celebrities, as well as end the night hanging with some of The Guild actors, Sony Hardware people, and the guys from the Totally Rad Show. Read More...

Comic Con '09 Hands-On Impressions Dragon Age: Origins
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 29th of July 2009 - 11:23 PM ]
After a short walk from the San Diego Convention center to the Hilton Gas Lamp, I found myself standing in line to play one of the most anticipated games this year at the EA games lounge. I received some free swag (blow up sword!) to get my excitement pumped up until I walked in the double doors and made a quick left to a PC version of Dragon Age: Origins. Just my luck, a previous player had just finished and walked away, giving me the opportunity to hop in the hot seat and start from scratch. Let me start off by saying, visually this game is stunning on PC. Read More...

Comic Con Issue #1
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 29th of July 2009 - 04:30 PM ]
Thursday: The First Official Day Earlier, I brought you what went on at the preview night of the convention as well as how it has changed quite a bit. For the worse in my opinion. But that didn't keep me or the Aggrogamer team from pressing on to the first official day of the convention. A day that I deemed EA day. A day full of games, small reveals, lounging, and a few extra after hours events. It'll make sense when you continue down. Read More...

Comic Con '09 Hands-On Impressions of Brütal Legend
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 28th of July 2009 - 01:39 AM ]
Brütal Legend Take Two As you may have known if you follow Corey or myself on Twitter at all, you would have seen how mush the PR train was rolling at Comic Con this year. It was Huge! But it wasn't just about the free stuff they were giving out or events they were putting on. They also had an updated version of the demo for this game. They also had the game on a few more platforms for us all to take in. Not to mention the fact that they had more kiosks to play on, thus shorter lines and waiting than at E3. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 27th of July 2009 - 11:23 PM ]
Preview Night Comic Con 2009, has come and gone. While San Diego cleans up after the mess that was left behind from the geek's the world over, I figured I'd give you all a daily recap of what happened during the con as well as a little of the after hours stuff that we at Aggrogamer were able to partake in. By we, myself and Corey. But we still left a heavy presence behind. Read More...

Comic Con '09 Hands-On Impressions of Dante's Inferno
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 27th of July 2009 - 09:47 PM ]
Dante's Inferno So at E3 this year, we were all given some great teases as to what to expect for Dante's Inferno from EA. All in the form of an extended trailer and a little bit of watching the designers play through a level showing off their game. No solid hands on experience, but it was still a great sight to see. But it did leave me wanting more to really get a feel for the game. Something EA was obviously waiting to let people do at Comic Con. Read More...
