by Dakota B. Johnson [ Wednesday, 19th of April 2017 - 03:00 PM ]
Video Games There is something going on with video games lately so let's talk about the horrible video games industry practices of late The video games industry is rife with shady business practices. Having people shell out sixty dollars for a game than thirty for a season pass or even more if there is a special edition of a game. This renders most reviews or opinions of a game worthless to the developer. They already have your money and that’s what they mainly care about; rightly so as this is a business. Read More...

Review: The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim - Hearthfire
by Irene Collazo [ Monday, 10th of September 2012 - 06:00 PM ]
I gave Skyrim's Hearthfire DLC approximately 25 hours of my life this past weekend. Considering all of the not-so-sure attitudes towards it, I gave it a try. Once I started my game I did a bit of running around Skyrim. Finally, an 80% naked courier approached me to propose a message from the Jarl of Farkreath stating that I could buy land in that area. There are a total of three plots of land you can purchase from Farkreath, Dawnstar, or Morthal. You can get all three if you would like. Read More...

My Top 20 Favorite Video Game Tracks Of All Time
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 25th of June 2012 - 02:53 PM ]
Since we do a lot of standard news and reviews on Aggrogamer I think it's time we get a little personal. I am a huge fan of music. I love listening to it and I most certainly enjoy creating it. So here are my top 20 all time favorite themes from a video game. Enjoy. Note: the first 15 are in no specific order but the top 5 are in order of epicness. Spider-Man&Venom: Maximum Carnage - "Carnage Rules" An epic opening to one of the best Spider Man games of all time Serious Sam: The First Encounter - "Fight 5" When this song pops during an epic fire fight in Serious Sam, your adrenaline surges through your veins as you enter "The Zone" Mirror's Edge - "Kate (Puzzle)" I loved Mirror's Edge and this song was so soothing and relaxing. I still listen to it a lot. Read More...

Prepare yourself Dovakhiin; there are vampires in the woods.Seriously, check out the video below. There are people that haven't even beaten the game yet (*cough* Quiglin *cough*) that adding this type of expansion pack is huge for. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Ninety: Skyrim, Sequels And Series
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 28th of November 2011 - 05:14 PM ]
Matt joins Brian and Corey again for Aggrocast hijinks, including being completely disconnected from the call. The format jumps around as Brian and Corey wax poetic on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as they wait for Matt to return and they generally talk about what they've been playing including Batman: Arkham Asylum, WoW, Braid and Fusion: Sentient. We may have bounced around a bit, but your favorite features are still there. Care / Don't Care has the guys hitting up another eight topics and Community Spotlight shines on the Ghoul Girls. The latest developer's diary is up at the Elder Scrolls Community page, and this time we are taken into the world of Cyrodiil and we see this world brought to life. Full of character and lush landscapes, this massive world is a time sync TES fans know and love. If you haven't checked it out yet I also recommend for the more technical reader to check out the brief history of Cyrodiil. This way you can see how a game world takes shape from a more technical aspect. It's amazing the detail that this team has brought into the world. Read More...

The Sound Of Skyrim - Making A Dragon Sandwich
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 7th of November 2011 - 05:01 PM ]
There are a ton of factors that go into making a game: graphics, UI, scripting, but one feature that really stands out and can make or break a game is the sound. Bethesda has released their latest podcast featuring Mark Lampert - Bethesda game studios Audio Director - giving a full look at what went into making the music and sounds of Skyrim. I've always found voice acting and soundtracks to video games such an interesting element, so it's always fascinating to see how much goes into it from the other side of the screen. Check out the video below. Read More...
