Who Wants To See How They Are Creating Alien Isolation?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of March 2014 - 07:03 PM ]
There is a new trailer for Alien Isolation rife with pre-alpha footage as well as the overall goal of Creative Assembly for the franchise. I guess the answer to the above Alien Isolation question is you. You want to see it and we have it for you. Granted there isn't much new in the way of footage from the game but what we have more of is Creative Assembly's vision for Alien Isolation. Not the whole thing but enough to make any gamer a little more excited about a new Alien title given the folly of the previously release game that will not be mentioned. You can take a quick look but as usual I will give you a bit of the break down so you don't have to be glued to the screen trying to get the details and just plain enjoy yourself. Read More...

Alien Isolation Is Proof The Franchise Will Never Die
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of January 2014 - 07:24 PM ]
Alien Isolation has been announced from Sega and Creative Assembly games but will it be the Aliens game we hoped we were getting before? During the hullabaloo of CES it looks like Sega announced a new Aliens title, Alien Isolation. Yea, after the huge fiasco that was Aliens: Colonial Marines, it looks like Sega and 20th Century just doesn't want to let the franchise fall aside and let the fans still love what they already loved. One bonus that Alien Isolation does look to have is that it is being handled by a new studio, so there is that. Why don't we take a look at the announcement trailer and see what is going on here. by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 7th of May 2013 - 05:36 PM ]
During PAX East I had the honor of meeting the President of Mommy’s Best Games, Nathan Fouts. A really cool guy, who is extremely passionate in what he does. We exchanged contact information and for the past couple months we have been emailing each other back and forth, talking about Mommy’s Best Games, Serious Sam, as well as some other things. AggroGamer: When and why did you establish Mommy's Best Games Inc.? Nathan Fouts: I started working at bigger companies, like Running With Scissors, back in 1998. Read More...

Aliens: Colonial Marines Quality Explained?
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 13th of February 2013 - 11:25 PM ]
An alleged employee of Gearbox Software by the username "ThrowAwayACM" has posted some very interesting stuff on Reddit in the past day. That stuff being information in regards to the poor quality of Aliens: Colonial Marines. "First off, due to me breaking NDA, I can't provide any proof that I'm not just talking out of my ass. But I figure you'd be interested in hearing what I have to say regardless. I've been on the project for around a year and a half, so some of the following are things I've heard from more senior guys. Games That Deserve Another Installment
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 22nd of May 2012 - 06:08 PM ]
After playing Double Dragon Neon I thought to myself "What other games should come out with a sequel?" and alas I composed this list. I hope you agree with the gist of them, if not leave a comment down below. Zombies Ate My Neighbors (1993) A loveable run and gun zombie game that came out for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo. Developed by LucasArts and published by Konami. Featuring over forty horrifyingly fun and difficult stages. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: Aliens: Colonial Marines
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 10th of April 2012 - 05:28 PM ]
I had the privilege to speak with the senior producer of Aliens: Colonial Marines at PAX East over the weekend. They were also giving a demo of the Multiplayer. The Multiplayer was very team oriented and forced you to work together to defeat your opponents. The only mode we played was Team Deathmatch. The marines would all huddle around each other and pick off the Xenomorphs as they tried to separate the marines. One on one a marine has a very high chance of losing to a Xenomorph mainly due to its "pounce" ability. Read More...

Review: Captain America: Super Soldier
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of July 2011 - 09:41 PM ]
Just as other reviews recently, it is time yet again to take a look at another video game based on a Big Budget film. This time it is Captain America: Super Soldier based around the hero and forthcoming film of similar, but not exact title. Could this just be more slop like the Spider Man 3 game or can it actual surpass and be something worth your time? Let's take a look at how Cap' shapes up. The Story Intelligence has gotten back to the Allies that some of the allies to the Axis powers have been forging new technology that rivals that of Stark Industries during WWII. Read More...

House Of The Dead: Overkill Ext. Cut Moving To PS3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 28th of May 2011 - 07:20 PM ]
I knew holding out would pay off. I knew that one day House Of The Dead: Overkill would be hoping onto the PS3 so I could hear all 189 of those F-Bombs that are laced throughout the story. I'm sure they are all tastefully positioned for story purposes and not to crack some kind of record… Although seeing as this is the extended cut of the game coming to the PS3 I have a feeling that the record is going to be broken with a few hundred more tastefully placed F-Bombs. There are a whole two more stages to pack full of the profanity. Lets' do a little math on this. Read More...

Shocking New: Chris Evans To Voice In Captain America: Super Soldier
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 21st of February 2011 - 11:41 PM ]
Just like the announcement of Chris Hemsworth voicing Thor in the movie tie-in game of the same name, it looks like Chris Evans is doing the same for Cap. in Captain America: Super Soldier. As the title says, real shocking news right? I am almost certain that most of us saw this coming in the first place, so the announcement is really no big surprise. Just like I said for Thor the surprise would be that the game is at least worth a rental. Moving on from that, there are a few new screen shots below for us to look at and get all hopeful over. Shocking News! Thor's Film Actors To Voice Thor Video Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of December 2010 - 05:17 PM ]
This just in! The guys who are playing Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hilddleston) are going to be voicing the characters in the game too. Not only that, but their likenesses will be used for the character models as well. Holy Fucking Shit Balls! I never would have guessed this in a bazillion years. Words cannot describe how fucking shocked I am. And that kiddies… is what we in the biz call sarcasm. Read More...

Video Games Saved My Wedding
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 2nd of December 2010 - 09:16 PM ]
Dealing with stress is different for each person. For those of you who have dealt with planning a wedding, you know the amounts of stress the participants encounter as the "big day" draws near. For those of you who haven't experienced it, imagine having a Christmas celebration at your place, except you're expected to buy all the presents (even the ones other people are giving each other), do all the cleaning, cook the entire meal, provide entertainment, make drinks and at the end – serve pie.* During the last few weeks prior to my wedding, both my fiancée (now wife, obviously) and I were both working full time and trying to tie up last minute details – of which there were many. We were always tired and our patience was thin. Read More...

Another Movie Tie-In, This Time Captain America
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of October 2010 - 04:15 PM ]
Get ready for another "Lets-Milk-The-Franchise-For-What-It-Is-Worth" game coming next year from Sega. Just in time for the feature film Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: Super Solder will be hitting shelves to cash in on the hype. Here is the trailer for the game just to show you what Sega has planned for the tie-in-but-not-based-on game for the film. At first glance it looks like it could have potential. It really does. Dreamcast Coming to PSN and Xbox Live Arcade
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 16th of June 2010 - 05:56 PM ]
The Dreamcast is making a comeback and this time it's not in console form. Sega's last console attempt is getting ready to release two of it's popular titles: Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventures on the PlayStation Network and XBox Live Arcade this fall. The titles will get the usual treatment and advantages for being on PSN and XBLA, so expect Achievements/Trophies and much better HD visuals. Sega is planning on porting more titles in the coming months in conjunction with the 11th anniversary of Dreamcast's launch (has it been that long?). Read More...

Review: Alpha Protocol
by Kevin [ Thursday, 3rd of June 2010 - 10:56 PM ]
There were few games I was looking forward to this year more than Alpha Protocol. With every new video and image released I thought the customization, character interaction and apparent polish on the title would really push it to the top of my "gotta play" list. I felt like Obsidian Entertainment wouldn't disappoint, with their history of working on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and Neverwinter Nights 2. This was their time to make an original IP, and though the game was wrought with delays and false starts, here we are. So, while we're here – what exactly do we have? Read More...
