Honestly the way the 2008-09 NHL season went, there were probably a dozen different players who could have been a safe bet to be on the cover of the upcoming NHL 10. There’s often very little reason not to include Evgeni Malkin, Alexander Ovechkin, and Sidney Crosby who finished 1, 2, 3 respectively in scoring this year. Players like Zach Parise, Ryan Getzlaf, and Marc Savard cemented there positions among the elite in the NHL by having stellar years also. Less than a month ago, it was announced that the SNK Witch Touching series, Doki Doki Majo Shinpan would be getting a new title this summer (Read the article here). The new title Doki Majo Plus, which will be set on an island beach during summer break, has finally released new screens. With the new screens, comes news of more mini-games this time around. No clear specifics on what the mini-games will consist of, but be sure they will add more variety to the game than just battles and witch checking.  Battles will be getting an upgrade with a new powerful technique that won't require the user to use their magic. Capcom announced last week during CAPTIVATE 09 that they will be releasing the PSP fighting game, Fate/Unlimited Codes Portable, in the U.S. Unlike Japan, the American release will be following Europe in releasing the game digitally only through the Playstation Store. Sony and Capcom both firmly state that they are not abandoning the UMD format that is the primary media used in PSP games. Capcom has promised a winter release at a retail price of $29.99.     For all you StarCraft junkies out there, Blizzard has released a second "Battle Report" for your viewing pleasure. In the video you will see Matt Cooper and David Kim facing off as Matt is using the Zerg race and David is using the Terrans race.The video really display the strength and weakness on both races which at one point I thought Matt Cooper was really going to dominate over David Kim, but David really came back and won  the match with updating his techs and forces to turn the tide on Matt Cooper. The new units and upgrades that blizzard released was shown here and to be honest with  you it really tickled me in a way that i cannot wait to try out those new units and abilities.I for one is really itching for this game to come out (when ever that may be) for the PC. According to a post on the official PlayStation Blog this past Wednesday, Sony has announced a new firmware update for the PlayStation 3. According to Eric Lempel Director of PlayStation Network Operations, v. 2.70’s new features will include a new Text Chat feature that will allow you to chat online with up to 15 friends as well as be able to chat in up to 3 rooms with friends. According to the blog, the new feature will be compatible with the PlayStation Wireless Keypad, on-screen keyboard, and other keyboard peripherals compatible with the console. Japanese idol simulator, Idolm@ster SP, for the Sony PSP has seen a release day sell out throughout various shops in Japan. Within hours Japanese gaming stores, Gamers and Mesee Sanoo starting posting signs claiming the game was "Sold Out". By the morning of February 20th, Amazon Japan was completely sold out of all 3 versions as well.  For those who are unfamiliar with this title, Idolm@ster started as a sim style game where you are an Idol manager, and you pick a girl to be the next Idol in Japan and groom her to success. Dead Space Wii Announced So completely out of left field, the guys over at Kotaku found some interesting news about Dead Space. It is slated to get a Wii port sometime in the 3rd quarter of this year. So like around Halloween I would guess. So I guess we'll get to actually move things around with the Kinetic gun with the WiiMote not to far off. I'm not sure if I should be excited for this or not. Like most fangirls, Cosplay is a typical part of my geek life. Being a Valve fanatic, I gather every year at A-KON to cosplay with my fellow valve fangirls and fanboys for a weekend of fun, frags and photos. Last year I encountered many Chell cosplayers, but none of which had a gun from the game as realistic and inspiring as this. Yesterday the Championship Gaming Series announced that it will no longer be in business. The league who was owned by BSkyB, STAR and DIRECTV has been a major part of e-sports in the last few years and it's a shame to see another one go. Professional Gaming has been a big part of the industry since the 90's and over the last few years has escalated into huge international events. Sadly, this is not the first league to call it quits. I know many of Pwned.com's members are, like me, big supporters of Google. I've been highly anticipating the Google G1 Android Phone, and it has finally been announced that the phone will be available in stores on October 22, 2008. What is Android, you might ask? Android is a software platform and operating system that Google developed for mobile devices. Based off of the Linux kernel, it also allows developers to code in a Java-esque syntax: however, it does not provide the full-class libraries/APIS that come with the Java SE or Me, but rather implements the Apache Harmony Java.  Regardless of its seemingly limited functionality, Paul Reddick, CEO of Handmark (a developer of mobile media apps and services for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and other OSs) thinks Android will "help breed the simple and elegant programs consumers crave". A guy by the name of "hailrazer" over at BenHeck.com modded his own portable Dreamcast called the Dreamtrooper. The reason for the name is because it's not only a Dreamcast but it also looks like a Storm Troopers helmet.
