The Villains Of Dissidia Final Fantasy Are Coming Out In Force
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of December 2017 - 08:00 PM ]
Final Fantasy We have a new trailer for Dissidia Final Fantasy that shows off all of the villains from past Final Fantasy titles that will be in the mix again It looks like another great trailer for Dissidia Final Fantasy has been unleashed out there and this time it is a showcasing of the various villains from the franchise's past that will be showing up in the final version of the game. It seems to have slipped out there in the mix of all of the holiday fun, but Square Enix wanted to make sure that we all had a chance to see if our favorites will be in there. Of course, Sephiroth will be in there but also one of the best, Kefka from Final Fantasy VI will be showing up and doing what he does best. Read More...

Noctis Unsurprisingly Joins The Roster For Dissidia Final Fantasy
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 27th of November 2017 - 06:00 PM ]
Final Fantasy Noctis joins the fight in Dissidia Final Fantasy and we get another Final Fantasy stage added in from one of the more classic titles Even though Dissidia Final Fantasy hit arcades a few years ago, it looks like there are always new characters getting added in from the expanding worlds that Square Enix is putting out there. While we still have a bit of time until we see it on the PS4 on January 30th of 2018, it does look like the fighting roster will keep getting those expansions from Team Ninja. Especially now that we can see that Noctis will be joining in from Final Fantasy XV. Read More...

Cosplay Culture Was Out In Force At Animazement 2017
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Friday, 4th of August 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
Animazement There was a lot going on at Animazement but I will say that Animazement was the best place for cosplaying Ever since we were young many of us dreamed of growing up to become our favorite video game or anime character. I had no clue that so many years later I’d be going to conventions like Animazement dressed as a vault dweller and seeing so many others donning their amazing costumes. People draw inspiration from a variety of sources. Comics, Anime, and Video Games just to name a few. Read More...

Check Out The Gaming That Was Out At Animazement 2017
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Thursday, 3rd of August 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
Gaming During Animazement 2017 there was a lot of gaming going on and I was out there to check out all the fun anime and gaming things Anime has long held an influence in the world of video games. During gaming's rise to prominence within mainstream culture during the 70s and 80s which was helped greatly by a little known Japanese company that is still around today, Nintendo is a global giant in video games and has been for decades. While gaming was becoming increasingly popular so has anime with shows like Mobile Suit Gundam and Speed Racers. Manga, which much anime is derived from, had been around for much longer, but its expansion into becoming animated only helped it to grow and evolve. Read More...

Tekken 7: Fated Retribution Announced & Houses…Akuma?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 14th of December 2015 - 10:00 PM ]
Tekken 7 A sequel to Tekken 7's arcade version, Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, has been announced and looks to employ Akuma into the main story We may still have a bit of a wait to get Tekken 7 on the PS4 and Xbox One but it looks like the arcade version is already getting a sequel called Tekken 7: Fated Retribution. Well more of an updated unless Bandai Namco is taking a page from Street Fighter in terms of naming and alterations. Of course that wouldn't be a huge surprise right now as it does look like Tekken 7: Fated Retribution will be lifting at least on character from the other franchise in the way of Akuma. Read More...

Yoshimitsu Gets A New Character Design For Tekken 7
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of May 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
Gameplay for Yoshimitsu in Tekken 7 has been released and it shows off a rather drastic character design change for the character in Tekken 7 There is still no word on if Tekken 7 will be hitting consoles or the states any time soon but at least we have a look at yet another character that will be gracing the game. In this case it is Yoshimitsu who has been one of my favorites from past versions of the game. He's been absent among the roster in all of the recent outings for characters but now we get a good look at Yoshimitsu in action for Tekken 7. Read More...

Dissidia Final Fantasy Could Be Making The Jump To PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 10th of April 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
New details for Dissidia Final Fantasy's arcade game have come out that shows it may come to PS4 sooner or later Goodish news for those looking to be able to play Dissidia Final Fantasy but don't have all of the funds to own a huge arcade machine in house. I say goodish because this hasn't been completely confirmed as of yet but the chances of Dissidia Final Fantasy hitting the PS4 seem considerably more likely after the most recent "Closed Conference" that Square Enix put on. More on that in a second but this is also where it was revealed that Team Ninja will be doing the leg work on creating this interesting fighting game that will be Dissidia Final Fantasy. You'd know them for their Dead Or Alive 5 game as of late. Read More...

Review: Jeremy McGrath's Offroad
by Fred Buell [ Thursday, 19th of July 2012 - 10:10 PM ]
Jeremy McGrath's Offroad, developed by 2XL Games and published by Reverb (PS3) and D3publisher (360), plays like you would expect any offroad, rally or ATV game to play. It's smooth, it has some air control and it has competitive AI. That is where this game really ends with its current competition. Jeremy McGrath's Offroad has various unlocks as is expected in this day and age, like new vehicles and performance upgrades, however I couldn't find much reason to go after them. No motivation to keep playing despite this. Now don't get me wrong, the game is superbly crafted, no bugs at all as far as I could tell, beautiful graphics for an arcade title, the AI is smart and the controls top notch. Read More...

by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 29th of September 2011 - 06:18 PM ]
EA has announced that they are working with Klei Entertainment on a sequel to Shank, simply titled "Shank 2" at this point. After killing the criminals who betrayed him, former mob hit man Shank must protect his loved ones from the mob he once worked for. So far no release date has been given, but we can surely expect this one to come out sometime in 2012. I never played the first Shank but I have heard nothing but good things, plus the game looked pretty awesome. Well here are some screen shots and an announcement trailer, enjoy. Read More...

A Nightclub For The Social Gamer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 31st of January 2011 - 05:29 PM ]
Ok, so this is either a genius idea or one of the worst ideas that is going to flop and just make a few people poorer. The idea being a nightclub tailored specifically for gamers. A Las Vegas nightclub at that too. All slated to open its doors to the public here in a few months allowing gamers and non-gamers the chance to drop their cash on everything expected at a nightclub and videogames. As I alluded, I am mixed on this idea. I'm going to tell you why. Read More...

The Behemoth, the cats responsible for Newgrounds, Alien Hominid, and Castle Crashers have given a name and a trailer for their newest title, "BatttleBlock Theater" (formerly "Game 3"). The plot is described over at the The Behemoth's official blog as, "Having been shipwrecked on a mysterious island you find yourself both betrayed by your best friend Hatty and captured by the locals. All of this is happening while being forced into deadly performances. This however, is just the start of your problems. Read More...

Peggle's Reign Expands To PSN
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 18th of November 2009 - 12:11 AM ]
Today Popcap announced that Peggle and Peggle Nights will be releasing its addiction-y goodness on the PlayStation Network. They also announced that in tune with this release, Peggle Nights will also find itself on the XBox LIVE Arcade. Peggle on the PSN will be priced similarly to the original Peggle's release on XBLA ($10), while Peggle Nights will be priced at $5 (400 Microsoft points). Peggle is one of those games that seemingly anyone can get into. Yes, I'm sure there are three to four people that don't enjoy it, but where the game succeeds is its innate ability to keep everything simple and to do that simple well. Read More...

Avatar Droppings
by Kevin [ Friday, 11th of September 2009 - 04:02 PM ]
"Ever want to watch your Xbox Live Avatar plummet helplessly through the air and smash into things? Well now you can in the humorously cruel new game "Avatar Drop"! You and your friends can experience the side-splitting hilarity of watching your digital alter-egos bump, scream and crash their way through random obstacles." This is the official description of this indie title by the name of Avatar Drop. Now, from that description it sounds like Xbox Live has found it’s equivalent to Playstation favorite, “Pain. Co-Op Hack and Slash Gets a Penalty
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 25th of August 2009 - 07:22 PM ]
DataBox Games: Nine guys in their mid-20s on an island off Sweden. They are all attending Gotland University and working on their final thesis for their Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. Why is this important? Because much like the current wave of independent titles that flood the Xbox Marketplace - they are just a bunch of people with a love for games trying to deliver a unique experience. They don't have a major machine behind them, but they have a passion for crafting something that we can all get into and as such are definitely worth promoting around these parts. The game that they are currently working on is Penalty of Heroes, which I believe is their 26th title; most of the previous 25 have been made in ten weeks or less and have more fun crammed into them then a great majority of bigger budget titles.
