Nintendo Reminds Us They Have Games
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 18th of August 2010 - 05:19 PM ]
With Gamescom 2010 getting into full swing with news and announcements, Nintendo decided they wanted to remind its consumers that they too have games coming out this fall and that you won't want to miss them. Two games in particular were given solid release dates. Kirby's Epic Yarn and Donkey Kong Country Returns were big hits at E3 this year and have been generating huge buzz for their impending arrival. While I could never get close enough to play Kirby's Epic Yarn, I did have an opportunity to play with our large, simian friend. If you didn't catch my thoughts in our E3 podcasts, I can tell you here that the game is addictive... Read More...

Club Nintendo Rewards Announced
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 2nd of July 2010 - 08:31 PM ]
It's that time again where Nintendo rewards its faithful for liberally stuffing their corporate pockets full of money and doing free market research for them. Yesterday Nintendo released their Elite Rewards for 2010 in an email to Club Nintendo participants. Club Nintendo is a customer reward program. You purchase Nintendo products, register them on the Club Nintendo site and then you fill out a "brief" survey to earn coins that may be redeemed for prizes. If it was a grocery store chain, you'd have a little card with a barcode hanging off your key ring. Read More...

E3 2010: Sights And Sounds
by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 29th of June 2010 - 06:54 PM ]
It has been over a week now since E3 closed its doors. Since then I have been pouring over the many pictures I snapped - from the Activision Party to the Nintendo and Sony presser to everything else in between. I also managed to film some of the Method Man and Redman concert at the Konami booth. You may think it is all fun and games when you are at E3, and at times can be, but it is also a lot of hard work. We work tirelessly to bring you the latest news, impressions and hands-on articles as quickly as we can. We also met a lot of great people and miss the ones we didn't get a chance to meet up with. E3 2010 Hands-On: The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 21st of June 2010 - 03:50 PM ]
It started with a rush of excitement from the crowd in the Nokia Theatre on Tuesday morning and proceeded throughout E3. A brand-new Legend of Zelda was coming to the Nintendo Wii. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the Wii Motion Plus-based adventure fans have been clamoring for since the little white box’s inception. Not much of the story has been released for Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, but judging by the reaction at the Nintendo Press Conference and how long people were willing to wait in line to experience the brief demo at E3, that is not a concern…yet. All these people needed (myself included) was simply the chance to put the announced one-to-one movements to the test. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 7th of June 2010 - 10:53 PM ]
According to a leaked survey, the classic four person Nintendo shooter GoldenEye might be being built from the ground up by Activision, and coming to Wii consoles. This leak comes with possible box art and some concept screens. According to the leak, GoldenEye has been "Modernized" and will feature all the weapons and characters we love from Onatopp to Trevalyan, as well as classic weapons like the PP7 and high tech assault rifle. The leak also showed a picture of a new Wii controller shell, and a soon to be coveted gold plated classic N64 controller. Yep looks like everything is there for all the classic fans, but this time you'll be playing as the new bond (Daniel Craig). Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of June 2010 - 02:55 PM ]
So you most likely know that you will be able to see the Microsoft Presentation and the Sony Presentation online via one of the many streaming sources. But what about the third in the triangle of video game powerhouses? Will they leave you ass out? Of course not. Just like last year, those who are not able to make it to the physical location in LA, for lack of being in the industry or travel funds, they are giving you the hook up. When the time is right, you can head on over to e3.nintendo. Read More...

New Pokemon Title Destined For The Wii Bargain Bin
by Brian Goodman [ Friday, 28th of May 2010 - 05:29 PM ]
Thanks to 1up.com for breaking the news that the Wii exclusive Pokepark Wii (why do all Wii titles need the name of the console in the title?). The game will star Pikachu doing a whole bunch of crap that isn't fun. Like most people with the stunted tastes of a twelve year old kid, I have always loved the handheld Pokemon games. Despite being an unabashed Nintendo hater. The Nintendo published title's from developer Gamefreak have always been very high quality RPG titles. Read More...

Does Nintendo Make Kid Games Or Games For People Of All Ages?
by Brian Goodman [ Tuesday, 25th of May 2010 - 05:51 PM ]
So I was reading an opinion piece on Kotaku all about how Shigeru Miyamoto thinks he makes game that appeal to people of all ages - not just kids. The writer of the Kotaku piece made the comparison between Nintendo and Pixar, who has made arguably the best animated films of all time that are characteristically appealing to young children and adults alike. Something didn't feel right to me about that comparison. As a HUGE fan of Pixar I thought to myself; what makes Pixar films successful? Read More...
