E3 2014 Hands On: Evolve
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 19th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Evolve In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It I have heard so much about Evolve from every other even that I have had to miss out on. Hearing that I would be able to play it at E3 got me excited as all of the trailers and gameplay footage up until now has had me extremely interested. So I made the trek over to the 2K booth and settled in to see how the game plays and if Evolve can live up to the hype that I have seen flung around for it. At least from the aspect of one of the hunters, Hyde the Assault, so know that there is a bit of skew here since I didn't get hands on with the other four playable characters. Read More...

Time For A Dance Party! New Trailer For Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 5th of June 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
Gearbox and 2K have released another trailer for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel showing how much fun dancing on the moon can be Since we are moving into serious times here with E3 breathing down our necks I'd say it is time for a bit of levity and that is just what are getting with the most recent trailer for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. This trailer also answers the age old question of how much fun it would be to dance on the moon. Even better, line-dance on the moon. Read More...

Four New Characters Have Been Revealed For Evolve
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of May 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
There are now four new characters for Evolve but the same four classes. Just in case you thought the first set of hunters for Evolve were boring, Turtle Rock has brought us four new characters for the game. One for each class with their own new personalities and different abilities, skills, and weapons in the game. I'll be honest here too; each of these new characters seems a lot cooler than the basic four that came with the original announcement for Evolve. Here is a quick rundown for the four new characters. Just In Case You Need Some More Borderlands In Your Life Right Now…
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of May 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
Three new short videos based on Borderlands have been released in a series call Tales from the HQ. If you are eagerly waiting for Tales From The Borderlands to come out so you can expand on the stories of the world, let me offer you these three new shorts in a series call Tales From The HQ. Don't get them all mixed together though as while both the new game from Telltale and these are only connected in the way of Borderlands characters and environments. Tales From The HQ is a series of short films made by students at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA who happened to team up with 2K Games and Gearbox. Originally only supposed to one film, now three, and to have been released in December of last year. Read More...

Check Out The New Evolve Trailer That Lets You Choose Your Vantage Point
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 24th of April 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
A new trailer/gameplay video for Evolve has been released and it lets you choose the character you watch in the match. That latest trailer for Evolve is completely the way that multiplayer titles should do it. As you have most likely not jumped to the following trailer yet, let me explain. Turtle Rock and 2K have put together a nice nine minute game session for Evolve showing off some of the game's mechanics as well as abilities employed by each of the five different playable characters. The best part is you can hop between each of them to see what they see while running around trying to kill the Goliath or trying to survive and kill the players. As of writing this I have yet to see the match through each character's eyes but I have watched the commentated version of the Evolve match and I can be colored impressed for this multiplayer titles. Why I Am Not Excited About Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Tuesday, 22nd of April 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Am I the only one who is disappointed by the new Borderlands game announcement? I have been a fan of Borderlands since its release day. I have played both games on all three platforms. Each time the game looks the best to me on the PC. Contrary to the evidence, I am not a PC elitist. The game just seems to pop a little better when ran at max settings on a PC. That is why when I heard that we were getting a new Borderlands game I was a happy camper. Then I read that it was going to be built on the same engine as Borderlands 2. Read More...

Rumor No More — Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Is Happening
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 9th of April 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has been officially announced by Gearbox and 2K Australia. Looks like all the rumors were true. Earlier this week there were rumors abound about a supposed Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. I personally poked at the rumor but as it would turn out some other press outlet just broke the embargo on the announcement. If this forced Gearbox's hand to make things official is still up to debate but none the less here we have Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. As mentioned before, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place after Borderlands but before Borderlands 2. Read More...

Rumor Mill: A Borderlands In-Between-Quel Is In The Works?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 7th of April 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
New rumors have cropped up that there will be a Borderlands title to gap the five years between the games. Hey fans of Borderlands and Borderlands 2. Have you ever wondered what happened between both titles to take Handsome Jack the proper villain he is stated to be? Well if the new rumors from GamePointsNow are to be believed that is what e 2K Australia is cooking up for us with a Borderlands 2 prequel. I would argue that Borderlands would be the prequel to that game myself but for now we will use the name that is being reported Borderlands: The Pre-sequel. All go into the nuts and bolts of what is being claimed in a second for this Borderlands in-between-quel but wasn't 2K Australia supposed to not be the name used anymore? Read More...

Just In Case You Forgot BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea — Ep 2 Is Out
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of March 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
We have the launch trailer for BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea — Episode Two to celebrate its launch and end of a company. With everything going on as of late for Irrational and 2K I almost forgot that BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea — Episode Two was on the verge of launching. Or actually launching today depending on the platform that tickles your fancy. I believe it is only the Xbox that has to wait another day but I could be a bit off. Either way, it is a good thing that 2K decided to remind us all with a very creepy and cool trailer for the last DLC from Irrational Games. Read More...

If You Thought Zombies Were Bad, Wait Until Evolve
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Monday, 24th of February 2014 - 06:02 PM ]
It is time to "Evolve." From the creators of Left 4 Dead comes an exciting new first and third-person shooter; Evolve. One might ask: how can a game be both? Well in first-person mode three other players and you team up to take down a monster, while the other person controls the monster from a third-person perspective. Some of these monsters look absolutely terrifying. My favorite monster so far is a 30 foot tall snarling beast with spikes. Read More...

A New Venture For Irrational Games' Ken Levine
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Thursday, 20th of February 2014 - 06:00 PM ]
Irrational Games is shutting down. What is next on the plate for Ken Levine and the BioShock franchise? A story broke today that Ken Levine is starting a new venture inside Take-Two. In his message on Irrational's official site he stated that he wants to go back to having a smaller team that creates narrative driven game for the core gaming audience. Much like how the first BioShock game played. "While I'm deeply proud of what we've accomplished together, my passion has turned to making a different kind of game than we've done before. Evolve Is Not Really Evolving Multiplayer, But It Works
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of February 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
We have some new details on Evolve, the upcoming 4v1 shooter from Turtle Rock Studios. Trailer and screen shots galore. So when I hear a game is going to be multiplayer heavy as is the case with Evolve, I normally cringe. I also usually think of just giving a blanket pass on the title as well. But with what I have been seeing and reading from Evolve my interest has been piqued again. Just in case you don't know what the game is about here's a short history lesson. Originally it was going to be published by THQ and was called Wild. Read More...
