In the pursuit of making games 100% immersive there are an ass ton of gadgets, gizmos and displays to make you feel truly in the middle of the action. That is what the whole motion controller craze and revitalization of 3D is all about isn't it? But no one will rest until you can fully experience the game world as if you were truly standing there and walking around it. That is what gamers enjoy isn't it? Moving around and having all of the game character's skills based on their own motor functions that don't require basic thumb presses. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 9th of March 2011 - 06:21 PM ]
By Matt Waitt Microsoft has recently posted a few job listings on their website, which suspiciously looks a lot like some console building jobs. The job listings include: A Graphics Hardware Architect stating "The ideal candidate should have a broad background in 3D graphics rendering architectures and algorithms (ideally with gaming applications in mind), 3D software pipelines, and physics." As well as "a solid understanding of graphics hardware implementation, including design methodologies and production yield and cost analysis." Hmm... Read More...

Games In A Flash
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 4th of March 2010 - 09:32 PM ]
Flash games are the best way to kill time at work, at school, or waiting for the next Blizzard game to be released. With all the new console games coming out every week, we seem to overlook some developers that create entertaining games for FREE! Day after day folks are pouring out innovative and new game ideas all the time. I thought I would highlight a few of these for you readers out there, because their are some games out their that are too good to miss. Robot Unicorn Attack   Yes this game looks like it's for four year old girls and ponies (and the music is something from the 80's) but it's simplicity and fast paced gameplay make this a great way to kill that 15 minute break you have in the morning. ESPN Coming To XBox 360
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 20th of January 2010 - 02:28 AM ]
With all the consoles (finally) starting to stream digital media, either from Netflix, or from online stores, it seems that the only natural progression would be to start showing live TV shows/sporting events. ESPN were in talks with Microsoft in a very "private" meeting, about the possibility to stream sporting events live on the XBox 360. Of course fee's would be involved but now your average gamer, on any given sunday, could sit at home and switch back and forth from Madden '10 to whatever football game was on. For a per-subscriber fee, ESPN could provide live streams of sporting events, similar to the ones available through ESPN 360, a service that is available from some high-speed Internet providers. Ever wonder what it would be like to hook yourself up to your Xbox or Nintendo Wii and have it monitor certain vitality signs, use the data to change your avatar accordingly, or tell you what your feeling during certain points of a video game. Imagine status updates but from your internal Biology, take that Facebook!Microsoft recently patented tracking of players physical characteristics and converting that information to reflect on your avatar.  Of course a third party device would have to be created first, but Microsoft would pick up all the info and beam it into your Xbox Live account, making your Avatar look more like you. by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 12th of May 2009 - 11:08 AM ]
EPISODE 27: Michael, Brian and Binh are back with the brand new Aggrocast Hello faithful readers and listeners. As many may know, when we launched Aggrogamer.com, we brought the Pwned.com Podcast, Total Meltdown, over with us. We changed the name of it to the more suitable title of Aggrocast. We retain the same cast of Michael (G-Nitro), Brian (Quiglin), and Binh (Church). We also kept the same format but moved around a bit to settle in properly with the site, and we also made sure the same craziness, humor and entertainment is still there. With that, we hope you enjoy the new Aggrocast, as we really enjoyed being back on the podcast scene after a few weeks off. Read More...
