[PS3 Review] Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of November 2008 - 07:13 PM ]
The Worlds Collide This game has been a huge one on a lot of people's radars since it was first announced. It has been looked to as a way to reinvigorate the franchise into what it once was. Trying to help fans forget the films and lack luster games that have been placed out there on the market. Here's what I have to say. The Premise: At the end of a great battle against Darkseid and Shao Kahn, each in their own universes, something goes awry and begins the merging of the two universes. Through confusion or just trying to find answers to end this universe ending event, both sides fight through to find a way to end it. Read More...

[PS3 Review] Mirror's Edge
by Michael Camacho [ Friday, 14th of November 2008 - 04:23 AM ]
Mirror’s Edge, developed by DICE and utilizing the Unreal 3 Engine along with a dynamic lighting engine in Beast, is set in what seems to be a beautiful and utopian city. But all is not what it seems, and the city is actually heavily controlled and monitored by a totalitarian regime. To evade the watchful eye of Big Brother, runners are employed to relay information. This is where the main character, Faith, comes into the story. After her parents were killed by the government for actively protesting against the regime, she grew up on the streets. Read More...

Ready to put you’re fishing skills to the test? Then check out Rapala Fishing Frenzy 2009, brought to us by Activision and Fun Labs. The game is exactly what you would expect, a fishing simulation game featuring the Rapala license. But does a fishing sim on the XBox 360 translate to actual gaming fun? Well that all depends on what you are expecting from your fishing experience. In Rapala 2009 you start off the game by choosing whether your character is a male or female, and then you come to main menu. Read More...

Quantum of Solace Review, XBOX 360
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 4th of November 2008 - 07:06 AM ]
Quantum of SolaceESRB: TeenReviewed on: Xbox 360Quantum of Solace is Activision's first 007 game released since gaining the license from EA in 2006. It also marks the first Bond game released on 7th generation consoles (it is also released on 6th gen too). Daniel Craig, Eva Green, Mads Mikklesen, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, and Judi Dench all lend their voice and likeness to the game, which does give make it seem like you indeed are playing the movie, however, this time, that's a bad thing.Quantum of Solace doesn't fail so much due to the fact that it's not a great game to play, it fails in the regard that it's based on a movie, which while containing some over-the-top action, was largely a drama-love story that couldn't hold a candle to the action found in Goldeneye, From Russia With Love, Everything or Nothing, or even Nightfire. When producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson decided to take Bond in a different direction I was pleased with what came out on the big screen but was disappointed in the fact that the toned down, more realistic action wouldn't translate well to a video game, where over-the-top is the standard. [XBox 360 Review] Crash: Mind Over Mutant
by Michael Camacho [ Sunday, 2nd of November 2008 - 10:40 PM ]
Activision and Radical Entertainment bring us the fifteenth installment in the Crash Bandicoot franchise, with Crash: Mind Over Mutant. The game's premise is centered on a brand new technological device, called the "NV", that is worn on the wearer’s head, and acts as the last PDA you'll ever need. The problem with the device is that it was produced by the evil Dr. Neo Cortext and Dr. Read More...

[XBox 360 Review] Fable II
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 28th of October 2008 - 06:13 PM ]
Choices we make in life effect our future and the outcomes of various events in life, and we deal with the rewards and consequences of those actions. And this is no different when you enter the world of Fable II, as every decision you make will shape how you are looked at and perceived, and even how the world shifts and shapes itself according to your decisions. Fable II begins with you living in the slums of Bowerstone with your sister Rose, homeless and hungry.  To feed yourself, you and your sister head towards the Town Market, and there is where Rose takes notice of a peddler selling ancient wares and decides she wants to buy the magic box for sale. [PSP Import Review] Ikki Tousen: Eloquent Fist
by Michael Camacho [ Saturday, 25th of October 2008 - 05:44 AM ]
Ikki Tousen is a fan service anime, all about breasts, fighting, pantsu, Chinese history and more breasts. So with the PSP release of Ikki Tousen: Eloquent Fist, Marvelous Entertanment brings us a toned downed eroge side scrolling beat-'em-up of the anime.  While you won't see any type of nudity, there are more than enough suggestive images that unlock throughout the game. The game is out in Japan only, and most likely will never see a U.S. Read More...

Review: Dead Space (PS3)
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of October 2008 - 05:14 PM ]
Bringing Back The Love Of Horror It has been a long time since I have had a game creep me out like the original Resident Evil did when I was a kid. Within the first twenty minutes of playing the game I felt the blood pumping with anticipation and a little excitement. And this isn't even anywhere near into the story at all. Pretty much, by this point you get off your ship look around and ask a few questions. Then out of no where the lights go out and you have to run for your life. Read More...

[XBox 360 Review] Saints Row 2
by Michael Camacho [ Saturday, 18th of October 2008 - 02:40 AM ]
Two years after Saints Row brought the heat to the Xbox 360 with a story of gangs, betrayal and an unknown thug upstart ascending the criminal underworld, we finally receive the anticipated sequel.  The game picks up five years after the initial storyline ended with you being taken out in a boat explosion.  During the five years, a lot has occurred in the city of Stillwater, as the 3rd Street Saints have crumbled, Ultor Corporation has moved in, and other gangs have taken control over crime in the city. And so Saints Row 2 begins, and after a short cut scene of two prison guards discussing how you have awoken from your coma and approaching your hospital bed inside a prison, you go right into the character customization screen. Review: Saints Row 2
by Ben Brody [ Friday, 17th of October 2008 - 07:22 AM ]
WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS LANGUAGE THAT MAY NOT BE APPROPRIATE FOR MINORS (then again, the game itself may not be appropriate for minors, in fact, it isn't appropriate for minors. This will also be a much more unbiased and unopinionated review than G-Nitro's.   You're in the middle of a busy downtown intersection. You wait for it, wait for it, and then BAM you get hit by a speeding car that sends you flying 30 feet in the air and 50 feet away. You immediatly get up and try to do the exact same thing again, it never dawns on you that instead of defrauding an insurance company by feigning injury, you would most very likely need insurance money as you would actually be injured and require major medical attention. LittleBigPlanet In Review
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of October 2008 - 09:01 PM ]
My Review Of LittleBigPlanet So if you look back at the last few weeks and all the buzz surrounding this game one would think that they were trying to make up for a shotty game. Hell I did. Then again, I was going on the history repeating it theory. But I did get some good hands on time this last weekend with it, seeing as I was not able to make it to E for All. So here we go. Starting out, you are required to flow through a few levels of the game to learn how the game plays and the controls of the game. Read More...

[XBox 360 Review] Pirates Vs Ninjas Dodgeball
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 30th of September 2008 - 03:19 PM ]
I will be one of the first to admit that when I heard about Pirates vs. Ninja Dodge ball, I was genuinely intrigued and interested.  Unfortunately, the game is very quick to disappoint on any expectations you may have had.  Which is unfortunate, as this game could have been a very fun Xbox Live Arcade title. The game, as the title suggests, features Pirates and Ninjas playing dodge ball against each other, as well as Robots and Zombies. It has 3 different modes in Singleplayer, Multiplayer and Co-op, each of which has its own game types. Read More...

[XBox 360 Review] Tales Of Vesperia
by Michael Camacho [ Sunday, 28th of September 2008 - 01:27 AM ]
The latest installment of the popular Japanese RPG Tales series, Tales of Vesperia, has arrived on the Xbox 360.  The world of Terca Lumireis is one of which that depends on ancient technology known as Blastia.  Blastia is utilized to perform various tasks from helping to boost combat skills, using magic, dealing with daily activities and work, or even protecting towns from monsters.  The protagonist in Vesperia is a young man named Yuri, whom deviates from the J-RPG stereotype. He isn't whiny or immature, but instead has his own sense of justice and takes matters into his hands, but is very caring even though he tends to not let it show. Read More...

Saints Row 2 Hands On @ PAX '08
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 2nd of September 2008 - 01:37 PM ]
After playing the first Saints Row for more hours than I can possibly count, I’ve been extremely excited since the announcement of Saints Row 2 coming in 2008.  After one delay, which has pushed the game back to October 14 2008, I about lost my mind.  But I would not have to wait that long to at least get a test run, and this is where PAX 2008 comes into play.    After a short five minute play through during the media time on Friday, I knew I had to get back and play the full first mission of Saints Row. Sunday, I got to finally get a full session in and take in the experience of Saints Row 2. Read More...
