Silent Hill 2... Er I Mean Alan Wake Live Action
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 26th of April 2010 - 02:53 AM ]
What you are about to see is not a preview to some new horror film. Nor is it the preview for the film adaptation of Silent Hill 2. So please do not get confused when you watch it. What is it a preview for then? The below video/preview is for the prequel story to Silent Hill Alan Wake. A game that has cause a bit of stir between the media and its developers. Why it hasn't caused any strife between Konami and Remedy yet, I don't know. What I do know is that on Tuesday (4/27), if you are not an XBox Live member, you will be able to check out the first episode over at http://brightfalls. Read More...

The Clashing Of The Titans Is Still Going On
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of April 2010 - 07:17 PM ]
Well now that the film has come and still kind of around in theaters, some of these screen shots (below) for Namco's video game version of the game have begun to make a little more sense. Although there were still no frog people in the film, some of the updated and altered creatures and scenes fit in a little better. With that said, some of the in-game character models look a little bulkier then their film counter parts. The insane cult leader is a perfect example. Read More...

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 20th of April 2010 - 05:06 PM ]
At first I thought this was a joke. A very clever and well constructed joke. This is one of those instances where I am incredibly pleased to report that this is no joke. The third game in the combo-laden fighting game series, Marvel vs Capcom, is coming to PlayStation 3 and the XBox 360 in 2011. The game, which is already said to feature Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Magneto, Storm (and from the looks of the trailer, Ryu, Morrigan, and Chris Redfield), seems to draw an aritstic style closer to the most recent iteration of the Street Fighter series. Some art from a teaser poster also seems to reveal a few other characters. Now, the battle between Wolverine and Ryu is more than enough to get my attention, especially considering the art aesthetic of the game. Read More...

by Kevin [ Thursday, 15th of April 2010 - 08:59 PM ]
The current king of skateboarding titles, the SKATE™ series, is dropping the demo of its third iteration today. The demo has a bunch of single and multiplayer modes to try out before the games drops on May 11th. I have been a fan of the franchise since the first of the series and really had not had much fun with skateboarding titles before this since Tony Hawk's Pro Skater II. Some of the new features for the title, as proclaimed by the official site, include: Everyone Can SKATE. - New skate fans can learn the ins and outs of skateboarding with Coach Frank in the all new skate. Gearing Up For Gears Of War 3
by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 13th of April 2010 - 03:33 PM ]
If you somehow missed Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night, then you missed one of the hottest trailers to grace your television screen. It is no secret what Cliff Bleszinski and the rest of the crew over at Epic Games are working on with the pre-mature announcement over on XBL (way to go Microsoft to blow that news). Well it was time to showcase to the world, or the few that could actually stayed up to watch Jimmy Fallon, the new trailer for Gears of War 3. “When we released Gears of War more than five years ago, we set out to tell the world an unforgettable story of bravery and sacrifice in the face of insurmountable odds, and a year from now, players will get the chance to experience the final chapter in the story of Marcus Fenix and his companions in Delta Squad,” said Cliff Bleszinski, Design Director of Epic Games. Green Day Rock Band Release Dated
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 12th of March 2010 - 02:39 PM ]
Upon hearing the announcement of Green Day: Rock Band at the Video Game Awards, my face had a perplexed look that went deeper than when Jack Black pretended to freak out on stage at the beginning of the show. Completely unexpected, Harmonix chose Green Day as their follow-up band to give an exclusive title. So, the Beatles... then, Green Day. Read More...

Scream! Finally, Some New Castlevania Screen Shots
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of March 2010 - 03:09 PM ]
Almost a year after its announcement at E3 '09, we finally get to see what Hideo Kojima has been doing to one of gaming's iconic franchises, Castlevania. He is playing around with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow in a way that I am still kind of on the fence about. At least I write that based off the screen shots below and renders for the Kojima's Castlevania. Some look amazing, while others look like they were originally slated to be place-holder assets that got mixed into the screen shot bin. Look at the renders for the spiders, werewolves, and goblins (I guess? Read More...

See Why Sam Fisher Is Back In Splinter Cell Conviction
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 19th of February 2010 - 12:20 PM ]
Seeing how Ubisoft has built Sam Fisher's new character model, it looks as if he has gone the Danny Glover way of things and finally said, "I'm too old for this shit."  So why would he hop back into action and star in the new Splinter Cell? Watch the story trailer below for those reasons. They are damn good reasons too. Two things before you go and jump into this video though. Read More...

Darksiding With A Demo
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 17th of February 2010 - 03:02 PM ]
Darksiders, a game that seemed to have trouble finding a general consensus at first, but did manage several very positive reviews is bringing a 90-minute demo to the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 on Feb. 25th. The demo will have the Twilight Cathedral level and will include some of the puzzles that have divided the gaming crowd as well as some equipment to find and even a couple of boss battles. Though the game has already shipped a million units, will a demo bring more gamers to the table ready to take on the mantle of War? Time will tell next week when the demo drops. Read More...

XBox LIVE Discontinued For Original XBox Systems
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 9th of February 2010 - 02:24 PM ]
According to Microsoft on April 15th 2010 they will be discontinuing there XBox LIVE services on the original XBox. The discontinuation of service will also include XBox v1 games that are backwards compatible on your XBox 360. So basically all you Halo 2 fans out there have been "cut-off". The original XBox LIVE had a good run, almost eight years from when it first debuted back in November 2002. Obviously there were numerous attempts at online gaming before XBox LIVE (Dreamcast anyone?), but none that became such a power house of online gaming. Read More...

It Only Took 16 Years For Sonic 4: Episode 1
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of February 2010 - 05:32 PM ]
As the below video montage/teaser for the new Sonic The Hedgehog game show, the new Sonic 4 that was just announced only took the people of Sega since 1994 to pump out the new game. Not all that long right? I mean they did have all those spin offs and uses of Sonic in between the last sonic game and this downloadable Sonic game that is coming this summer. As you can tell from the title, even though it has yet to be officially stated, this new Sonic will be episodic in nature. I mean, why call it episode 1 if it wasn't going to be. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 27th of January 2010 - 05:07 PM ]
Capcom is pushing hard for the whole Monster Hunter franchise to take off, so what do they do, turn it into a console MMO. Capcom has announced Monster Hunter Frontier Online for the XBox 360 in Japan. A first for the Monster Hunter Franchise, which has never been on the XBox platform before. $15 a month to play a game online you don't even play by yourself? An online beta will start sometime in May, and according to the website it will have a release date of summer 2010. If your wondering if there is a western release date, there is none at this time.
