Left4Dead DLC Release Day levels tend to hit a wall at the same time. ...If the curve is too flat, then average teams will have a good experience, but really good teams can grind on long enough to cross the line from having fun to just getting worn out."  This has been evident in Left4Dead so far and I would see no reason that would not continue in the new mode.

Possibly the best part of this update release is the price point Valve has set on both platforms: Free.  Enjoying a fact of life that PC gamers have been enjoying for decades, Valve is setting a precedent on the Xbox 360 by not charging a fee to download the additional content.  From Oblivion's horse armor to songs on Rock Band to multiplayer on Resident Evil 5, the charges on Xbox Live for DLC have never stopped nickel and diming the consumers into submission.  Save a few instances, I am not begrudging companies their due recompense, but I applaud Valve for releasing new content to the users that not expands gameplay, but enhances it.

  • Fixed an exploit where you could load the chamber of a weapon with bullets by holding down the melee key

  • Fixed a rare case where listen servers would speed up the game over time
  • Removed convars related to melee fatigue
  • Fixed a case where infected players would get a respawn time on their initial spawn into a map

Server Changes
  • Made ms_force_dedicated_server not require cheats
  • Add a message when queuing a heartbeat
  • Simplified setting of game mode
  • Removed convars director_no_human_zombies and director_holdout_mode
  • Added mp_gamemode [coop,versus,survival]
