Chernobylite
A new horror title, Chernobylite, has been given the announcement treatment and it looks like Chernobylite will re-explore some conspiracies of Chernobyl
A new survival horror title is coming to take us back to the Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe and it is called Chernobylite. Seems like a weird name to give it given everything, but this is what The Farm 51 are going with and I am sure it will make more sense over time. The game has just been announced so there is not much to know for the game to help explain the Chernobylite thing. It kind of sounds like a weird beer thing by name alone. Thankfully it is not going to be that and aims to give us some frights all based around a real-world catastrophe that people can go and check out if they are truly brave and risk takers. This is why I game though…
Anyways, Chernobylite has been announced and is going to tell a story revolving around the event while mixing in some survival, horror, love, obsession, and conspiracy elements to it all. Exactly what those may be are really anyone's guess but it is what it is. Sadly, this is more or less all of the information we have for Chernobylite as of now. We do have a nice logo looking image to go along with the announcement but we should know that the game is being made in the Unreal Engine and using 3D scans of the real-world location. The team has made a VR experience in the past that lets people explore some parts of the Chernobyl location so this is more likely a true expansion of that idea and giving a bit more fun.
We're Chernobylite
April 26th, 1:23 AM Ukrainian time. Exactly at this date and time the Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe has started. The melted core of the burning Reactor No. 4 mixed with the other chemical substances to create a highly radioactive material that hadn't exist anywhere in the world besides Chernobyl.
And we're going to tell you the story of Chernobylite: conspiracy, horror, survival, love, and obsession in a form of a video game.
But it's just the beginning. We're a game development team from Poland that has been spending a lot of time in Chernobyl Exclusion Zone gathering all data and materials required to make the ultimate survival horror experience of the Chernobyl catastrophe. We want to bring you a deep, emotional story, engaging survival and horror experience, and a visually stunning recreation of Chernobyl area achieved with detailed 3D scanning of rich game world, beautifully rendered in Unreal Engine 4.
Keep us on your radar!
What are your thoughts on Chernobylite with all of this limited information? Do you think it will be based on all of the real-world conspiracies out there or will The Farm 51 be crafting their own just for the story and to further shake things up? Do you think that this will build off of their VR experience from before or will it be its own contained thing? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. When we have more to share for Chernobylite, we will have it here on the site. Just be sure to keep checking back in to be able to see it all.
