Jurassic World Evolution’s Release Date Is Set & We Can Get Even More Dinosaurs

Jurassic World

The release date for Jurassic World Evolution has been set with its pre-orders so you can pick it all up just before the next Jurassic World film hits

We now have an official release date for Jurassic World Evolution and to very little surprise it is in line with the release of the new film in the same franchise. To think that Frontier Developments would miss out on that synergy of sorts would have been a hard sell for many, myself included. Although it does now place it right back into the realm of Jurassic World Evolution being a film tie-in video game but it does hit the PS4, Xbox One, and PC digitally about ten days before on June 12th so there is a bit of a gap. The physical version coming shortly after on July 3rd for those who want to have the game in a tangible form. Yes, there are still some of us out there.

As usual, with the release date announcement comes a new trailer for Jurassic World Evolution to show off the actual gameplay we can expect. As it looks, this will be more and more like a Sim City style of game where we will just be building our own version of the park. Then "life finds a way" through things like natural disasters to let all of the dinosaurs run crazy on the island. That makes it more like "nature finds a way" and less of "life" but I guess it all works. It still looks like Jurassic World Evolution could be a fun game but it does look like it could be closer to a tie-in more than anything. We will see…

Also as usual, Jurassic World Evolution is available for pre-order right now on all platforms, at least digitally, and doing so will get you more than the security of having the game locked in. Doing so will score you a few extra skins for the game. There is also a Deluxe edition of Jurassic World Evolution to pre-order as well and that will get you the same bonuses in general but for the extra cost, you will be getting five extra dinosaurs added into your game. There is no word if this is an exclusive thing just for that edition or if they will just unlock early for the extra cost. It is just an option though so you do you.

Jurassic World Evolution — Pre-Order Trailer

Frontier Developments is pleased to announce that Jurassic World Evolution is coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One digital-first on June 12, 2018. A physical release will follow for PS4 and Xbox One on July 3, 2018.

That puts Jurassic World Evolution availability right in the launch window for the Universal's upcoming blockbuster Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, making for some good prehistoric company during the "dino" days of summer.

And finally, Frontier also announced that pre-orders for the standard and digital deluxe editions (featuring five extra dinosaurs) are available on Steam, PSN, Xbox Live and the Frontier Store RIGHT NOW. Those who pre-order before launch will also receive a platform-exclusive helicopter skin and off-road vehicle skin.

What do you think of Jurassic World Evolution as it all stands right now? Do you think it will be more of a film tie-in than anything or will it be its own thing and just in the same universe? Do these bonuses and extras sell you on paying for the game early or the bigger edition? Let us have those answers down in the comments and then discuss.
