It looks like Jurassic World Evolution will have more Jeff Goldblum as he will be reprising his role form the films as we try to build our own Jurassic World in the game
It looks like we can add a big name to the list of voice actors making their way into Jurassic World Evolution as it has been announced that Jeff Goldblum will be reprising his Dr. Ian Malcolm role just for the game. At least for the game here that Frontier Developments is making for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but it is something and now fans can get excited just for that. I will say that it is neat to see them getting a big name for the franchise in for Jurassic World Evolution, but if it will make the game fly off the shelves is a whole different thing altogether. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. Just know that he will be a part of this game and helping to keep the two worlds blended for better enjoyment.
While it would have been easy to have him do a few "throw away" lines for Jurassic World Evolution, it seems that is not the path that the team wanted to go. I am sure there will be some lines like that in the game, but his actual role in the game is something along the lines of "moral compass." Similar to what he was trying to be in the films, but in Jurassic World Evolution he will be guiding us on moral choices as well as tactical decisions as we build and run our own version of the park in the game. If we were to truly listen to him we would not even start building the new attraction or new dinosaurs, but then we would not have much of a game. Maybe there will be that option to roll credits quickly and move right along as we made sure there was no "life finds a way" chance.
Have a look at the new announcement and see the very little bit of gameplay mixed in for Jurassic World Evolution. It is still slated to come to our systems by Summer of this year. I would venture a guess it will be close to the release of the new film, but as this is not a direct tie-in to the film, it could be anytime between then and when we all dictate that Summer ends.
