Hunt
Hunt: Showdown has now moved on to Early Access on Steam as the closed alpha for Hunt: Showdown has been shut down just recently
In the past few weeks lucky gamers out there had a chance to check out Hunt: Showdown as the team launched a closed alpha to get feedback, test servers, and make sure everything was running as smooth as could be at this stage in development. I know I was one of those lucky few out there and I had a blast playing what Crytek had for us at that stage and could not wait to get more. Sadly, as of February 22nd the closed alpha test for Hunt: Showdown was shut down. The good news, though, is that is because it has moved on to an Early Access build that PC gamers out there can pick up right now if they are so inclined.
One would not expect the announce of Hunt: Showdown going to Early Access to happen so soon, but here we are and it is now out there for $29.99 USD if you want to check it all out and help shape the game a bit more. There is no word on if there will be more content for the game now that it has gone to Early Access, but seeing as there were constant updates to the content as well as in general, I would like to think there will be more. If not right now, sometime real soon so as to suck in more players to Hunt: Showdown. They would need to do that at least to make players want to pay for the Early Access at least.

To go along with the announcement of the Early Access, and to show gamers new to Hunt: Showdown what is going on, we also have a new trailer to look at. It is all new gameplay for the game and not played directly by Crytek to add extra sizzle. It is spliced together footage from players of the Closed Alpha so you can see where the game was just a few days ago and how it has progressed from where it was last year at E3. I know I saw many new upgrades and changes since then and am excited to see what else can come in Hunt: Showdown. Let us just hope that the team will keep all of those updates flowing just as often as they did for the Closed Alpha.
Hunt: Showdown — Early Access
Savage, nightmarish monsters roam the Louisiana swamps, and you are part of a group of rugged bounty hunters bound to rid the world of their ghastly presence. Banish these creatures from our world, and you will be paid generously—and given the chance to buy more gruesome and powerful weapons. Fail, and death will strip you of both character and gear. Your experience, however, remains in your pool of hunters—called your Bloodline—always.
Did you get to enjoy Hunt: Showdown during the first test or will this be your first foray into the game? Do you think that the Early Access will get the same level and number of updates to the game as they continue working on it or will it slow down and only get major updates as needed? Could this pick up as an eSports title out there or do you think the "permadeath" aspect will keep that from happening? Let us have those thoughts down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. We will keep bringing you more of Hunt: Showdown as it is released. Be sure to keep checking back in here to stay up to date on all of it.
