God Of War
More information for God Of War is out there and it looks like the new weapon changed more than just the look of God Of War but much more in the way of combat
Even more for God Of War is out there as we continue the big push for the game here for the month and here we go with some new information for the new weapon in the game. We have seen the Leviathan ax for some time since Santa Monica Studio first debuted the new title and got all of those PS4 fans out there all excited. It is one of the many deviations that the God Of War franchise is taking here and it looks like it was something that caused the combat to have a huge shift from what we know. This is not the biggest of shocks as an ax would be a lot different than swinging around big blades on the end of chains. It makes perfect sense and it seems like it is slowing everything down for Kratos to make us think a bit more too.
On top of the new weapon to take into account for God Of War, the team also had to figure out how to work Atreus into the mix of combat. Yet another thing that caused a shift but it looks like it is to also aid with the combat slowdown for Kratos as well as give a better reason as to why he needs to be a bit more careful on the battlefield. It seems like a weird trade-off for the franchise, but it could be something that helps it evolve and keep pressing on as many of have wanted since the first title launched so long ago. If you want to see more of what I am talking about though, have a look at the latest interview that has made its way out there.
God Of War — How Kratos' Axe Changes The Game's Combat
In this exclusive Game Informer interview, God of War's lead gameplay designer Jason McDonald from Santa Monica Studio talks about designing the new game on the PlayStation 4 and how the team is hoping to make Kratos' axe Leviathan as satisfying as the Blades of Chaos.
Now that we have seen how God Of War is going to be changing in terms of combat, at least a little bit, now is the time to see if we are ready to drop the cash to get the big version of the game. It looks like we can now pre-order the Stone Mason Edition of the game for $149.99 USD from GameStop.
