Original Xbox Games Are About To Land On The Xbox One

Xbox

The first thirteen original Xbox titles coming to the Xbox One have been listed as well as a showing of how they will look on the latest console

Hopefully you have been hanging on to all of those old original Xbox game discs as it looks like as of tomorrow you will be able to load them up on the current generation of the system and start playing some of those old classic titles from long ago. Starting today, October 24th, you will be able to start playing more of those backward compatible titles on the XB1 just as you have been able to do with the 360 titles from before. It is starting out as a pretty small list of titles that will be available to load up on your Xbox One, but with these thirteen I am sure you will find something to your liking from your past. Even if you do not still have the disc, you will be able to digitally download them as well. The drawback being that you will have to pay for them all over again.

None of this is too new of information that the Xbox One was going to go back to the original system in terms of backward compatibility, but now we have the first list of titles and some of the graphical comparisons to go with them. Of course, the more modern versions will look vastly improved, but as none of these are remasters do not expect much more to have changed. They will run and look nice, but they will not have any of their online functionality nor will they have any of the achievements for those hunters out there. Just the game and any co-op or physically connected bonuses will be there. Just because you do not currently have enough to play on your Xbox at this time or in the very short future.

Fuzion Frenzy — Graphics Comparison: Original Xbox Vs. Xbox One S

I will concede that the visuals on the Xbox titles do look vastly improved and the loss or exclusion of some of the functionality makes sense. The only real question I have is where is the part where I have more time to go back and play a game I beat years ago to enjoy it all again? That seems to be the main issue I have when we see remasters of the older games that are just a visual improvement and not much else. That is what these are and while it is nice to know that I can play my really old Xbox games, or at least when the list gets further expanded, I just do not know when or why I will. This could just be a problem on my side of things and not much more, but it seems odd that this would be such a requested feature when we have multiple current gen games coming out and no extra time to play the nostalgia from before.

What are your thoughts on the current list of Xbox backwards compatible games here? Will you be going back to give them all another go or will you load them up on your system only to need to remove them later on to have space for newer titles? How many of your old games will you actually go back and replay now that you can or will it always be just a "good thought" to have and not much more? Let us all know what you think on this and then discuss. We will keep bringing you more on everything coming out for Xbox, so make sure to keep your eyes and browser locked into the site. At least you should have more time just for that. Hopefully…
