Put Your Trust In Brother With Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Wolfenstein

A new propaganda video for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has been released to give us yet another feel for Wolfenstein II's Nazi occupied America

We had a whole lot of gameplay for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus last week and thankfully, so far, it seems like Bethesda has not come out firing off with more here this week. Yet. I must stress yet as it feels like they are trying to get a whole lot of the game out there and in our eyes as Machine Games wraps up the work on it. I won't deny that I've loved every spoiler-filled second of it, but I know there are many people out there who want to see Wolfenstein II with fresh eyes the first time they play it on October 27th. Maybe that is you and that is most definitely not me at this point. The whole fresh eyes thing and not a lack of wanting to play the game. But I digress.

For those out there who like to go in with fresh eyes though but still want more of the "feel" of what Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is going to bring, I am glad to bring you yet another "propaganda" video that is based on a show that shows up in the game. Or is talked about. Or something like that. It is not really clear. Nonetheless, it does give us a further feeling of the America that the team is going for here in terms of losing the fight with the Nazis in WWII due to them having the superior firepower and technology. This time we have another show, Trust In Brother, that really drives home the New World Order that will be oppressing the world and drive us all to fight harder in the end. Have a look.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus — Put The Chocolate Down!

In Nazi-occupied America, even the smallest pleasures come with big risks. As we learn in this episode of Trust in Brother – one of the TV shows that appear in the world of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus – there is no such thing as “just a little chocolate.” Or, as big brother Dale puts it: “Good nutrition is a matter of state security.”

“I’m still going to have to inform on you!” Sometimes life isn’t easy when you’re Ronnie and you’re always getting caught doing FUN (Following Unlawful Nature) things in Trust in Brother – a heartwarming comedy show for the whole family. Giggle your hearts out as the gluttonous Ronnie gorges on milk chocolate bars. Chuckle until your belt buckles burst as Ronnie dances to degenerate music that threatens to send him into a spiral of drugs, crime, and political deviance. But whenever Ronnie stumbles, his big brother Dale will always be there to catch him – and inform on him to the authorities! With a resounding endorsement from our Beloved Führer himself, you’re in for eine großartige Zeit – a hoot of a time! Trust in Brother is filmed before a live studio audience.

I get that these videos really don't do much in terms of showing off how Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is going to play, but I will give massive credit to Bethesda for getting that "feeling" out there so we know how the game's world is going to be. Each of these new little clips fully hits home the feeling of the era the game is taking place in, but also has that perfect feeling of how messed up it truly would be if the fascist regime succeeded in taking over the world. Or at least it is how I can picture it and feel that Machine Games will get it across in Wolfenstein II. I guess what I am trying to say is that I hope more titles take this path so we have fewer spoilers for our games in the future but a better understanding of the inner workings. If that all makes sense.

What was your takeaway on this new Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus propaganda video or show we had here? Did they nail the feeling of this new and twisted world on the head for you or is it just "marketing bullshit" that you wish you could just skip to get to more of the actual game? Do you think that these kinds of videos are a good thing to give you a feel for the game without ruining much of it in the long run? Let us all know down in the comments and then discuss as Brother demands it. We will certainly have more for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus as we head toward the release date and we will certainly have it all up on the site as it comes. Be sure to keep checking back in so we don't have to report you…
