Injustice 2
Some of the Injustice 2 speculation can be put to rest as the first three of nine DLC characters coming to Injustice 2 have been revealed
It looks like the full roster for Injustice 2 has been set down already and now we get to venture into the DLC character world of the game. We do that here today as NetherRealm Studios has just dropped the first trailer showing off the first three characters we will get here on May 16th or some time afterwards. There have been nine spoken of for the full DLC release on the PS4 and Xbox One, but these three happen to be the one you get for Injustice 2 if you want to only pick up the Digital Deluxe Edition and nothing more. So it is time to take note and see if you need to upgrade or chance any of those pre-orders.
You can kind of see them in the above image, but the characters we have here in the first Fighter Pack for Injustice 2 are, Sub-Zero, Starfire, and of course Red Hood. Two of the most requested characters for the game have finally made it in. I can't count how many requests for Starfire and Red Hood I've read and heard even before the final roster was shown off to us. Now everyone can move onto the other characters coming to Injustice 2 and hopefully get some other great characters added in. Fingers are still crossed for Dogwelder but I have a feeling that I am going to be sorely disappointed this time around just as before.
Don't worry, I didn't forget about Sub-Zero in this hype that we've had for these Injustice 2 DLC characters. It's just hard to get excited for another Mortal Kombat character getting added in and taking up a slot that could have gone to a DC character in a DC fighting game. I'm sure he will have his place just as Scorpion did in Injustice the first time, but I think this could have been a pre-order character and not taking up a slot one from the DC universe could have occupied. Maybe it is just me though and I'm sure NetherRealm Studios will make him decent as he is the second iconic character for their main IP.
Injustice 2 — Fighter Pack 1
The first three DLC characters for Injustice 2 revealed! Batman’s second protégé, Red Hood, royal exile from Tamaran, Starfire, and the leader of the Lin Kuei, Sub-Zero join the fight.
Get these three characters included in Fighter Pack 1 and 6 more DLC fighters with the Ultimate Edition.
I will say that the one thing that is good for Injustice 2 with Sub-Zero being added in is that it does open up the realm of possibilities for other guest characters outside of the normal DC realm. Parallel universes aren't a weird thing for the franchise, but this is how they brought Scorpion into the mix, I'm sure it is how Sub-Zero will be, but it also make more sense to allow for other requested characters like Spawn or Hellboy to get added into the mix. At least besides just saying, "Hey, it's Injustice 2 and we wanted to just have these characters in and we don't need a reason besides that." Either way, it could lead to a great thing for the other six DLC and hopefully more to come.
