Have Another Taste Of Outlast 2 With Some New Gameplay Previews

Outlast 2

New gameplay previews for Outlast 2 have been popping up and they offer up another interesting look at Outlast 2 just before launch

In just a few weeks gamers all over the world will be able to get their hands on Outlast 2. Even "down under" where there was all of that hullabaloo bout censoring and such. That has all been hashed out and now it looks like Red Barrels is going out to show off a bit more of a preview for the game than before with April 25th quickly approaching. We've seen a lot of great things over the last few years for Outlast 2, even some solid gameplay, but now is the time to have a look at just what we will be getting on our PS4, Xbox One, or PC when the release date finally make it here.

While the gameplay may not be ours, we do get a fun look at how Outlast 2 is going to open up in a few ways. The big one being that we get some glimpses at the opening scenes for the game but also a better description on how the "levels" will be a little more open that seen and experienced before. Outlast kept us all in one very tight location and earlier footage suggested a bit of the same here for Outlast 2. As it turns out, it looks like those will be smaller section and the game's world will be a little more open. Hopefully more than just the cornfield chase that has been shown and experienced many times now. Although even the PAX East footage made that feel a little cramped than an "open world" feel should be.

Outlast 2 — Gameplay Preview

Outlast 2 is a twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets. Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with his wife Lynn, must take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch. As the two follow a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe, the investigation leads them miles into the Arizona desert to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.

I do have to say that based on the new bits of Outlast 2 footage here it does look like Red Barrels is going to be changing up the experience of the franchise a bit more than before. I am curious to see more on the school scenes that are shown here as it looks like just a long hallway, but sounds like it will keep us all scratching our heads in the long run. I'm also glad to see more of the atmosphere here for Outlast 2 and how it is being evolved from the last game. Of course they are not the same, but that was a huge selling point for the game. It felt and looked like a real location and not a video game setting. Something that could easily make Outlast 2 a reason not to travel to Arizona after all is said and done.

What was your takeaway on the new look at Outlast 2 that we had here? Do you think it will ultimately be scarier than the last game or will the openness of the world lead to more confusion on where to go than the experience of running for your life? What do you think will be going on with the schools as it has been stated this is more of a religious journey through horror than we knew before? Let us know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. As more for Outlast 2 is shown off in any form though, we will have it here. Keep checking back in to be sure to stay completely up to date on all of it.
