Final Fantasy XV's First Big DLC Is Bringing All Kinds Of Fun Festivities

Details on Final Fantasy XV's first DLC, Holiday Pack, have been given and it looks like Final Fantasy XV is going to be festive in its own way; paid or not

We've seen all of the teases and semi-updates for the Final Fantasy XV DLC that will be coming and as expected, it looks like that Holiday Pack bit is just about to hit us. As in next week we should be seeing all of the new bits added to the game from Square Enix just for those who have picked up the Season Pass or choose to purchase it all on its own. But wouldn't you know, given the holiday season, this bit of DLC for Final Fantasy XV isn't going to be reserved just for those who dropped the extra $25 USD for the pass but also for anyone who dropped the cash to pick up the full game already. Well, at least a few parts of the DLC will be fore them as it would not seem right to give it all away for free when some people paid for the extras at the end of the day.

As you can see below, we will be getting two different outfits for Noctis to wear in Final Fantasy XV with the Choco-Mog Tee being free for all and the other outfit being for those who paid the extra cash. At least they will be there in January when the in-game event goes on and we will be able to experience all of that. Seems odd to drop the DLC now when it won't be accessible for another month but I am not making the decisions here. I guess it's just nice to see what will be dangled in front of our faces in Final Fantasy XV until sometime early next year. So very nice that it should place them on the naughty list. I'm just saying.

As for items that will be usable right out of the gate next week, we will be getting a lot of extra gear and items that will alter the gameplay a bit or make it easier/harder to progress through Final Fantasy XV depending on how you want to equip everything. Of course the paid DLC will house a lot more and effective items than the free version including a way to gain AP for getting an A+ rating in all three of the scoring categories after a battle. As if AP wasn't something hard to come by in the game but maybe that is just how I am playing though and many others are missing out on all of the aspects of Final Fantasy XV out of the gate. I do like to search the world…

Holiday Pack (Free)

  • Armiger Accelerator – A device for Noctis that accelerates the Armiger bar replenishment rate, but freezes the tech bar.
  • Blitzer's Fanfare – A scroll of sheet music containing a song of jubilation that provides additional AP for earning an A+ in Time outside of training.
  • Tactician's Fanfare – A scroll of sheet music containing a song of jubilation that provides additional AP for earning an A+ in Finesse outside of training.
  • Key of Prosperity – A lucky charm that increases the rate at which fallen foes leave behind items of value.
  • Stamina Badge – A device that enables Noctis to sprint and hang without expending stamina.
  • Carnival Passport – An adorably adorned ticket that whisks the bearer away to a fun-filled carnival for a limited time.
  • Festive Ensemble (available late January) – A fancy and fun outfit perfectly suited for enjoying the festivities. The darling design puts all who see it in high spirits.
  • Holiday Pack + Exclusive Photo Frames (available late January) – Additional themes the player can add to Prompto's photos when sharing over social media.

In addition to all of this DLC for Final Fantasy XV, the next update will also be bringing us a New Game+ mode for those who have beaten the game and want to experience it again in a semi-god mode. Yes, this means that Square Enix is giving us the option to go back and replay the whole thing with all of our stats and such carried over. I'm going to guess that vehicle upgrades and such won't given that the world is a bit locked from the start of it all but maybe I am wrong. I'm also not sure if this is going to be a used mode in my world as well given that I always complete all side quests before heading onto the main one again and this has left me with a 25+ level gap between where I am and where I should be in the game. I'm just saying…
