Horizon Zero Dawn
A new trailer for Horizon Zero Dawn has released and it focuses on the story of Horizon Zero Dawn's protagonist and the culture and world she has grown up in
We've all heard the story of Horizon Zero Dawn a million times before. It's a classic story of world ends, girls grows up in it, and there are huge mechanical animals and dinosaurs roaming the planet that we have to deal with. Wait…not really a tale we've heard a million time here and it looks like Guerrilla Games is adding to it in their own special little way. At least that is all how it seems from the latest trailer and developer diary for Horizon Zero Dawn. It also looks like some of that backstory will also tie into the gameplay as well if I am hearing things correctly.
While this video doesn't give us much more on gameplay or the true story of Horizon Zero Dawn it does shed some light on the role of young Aloy in a way. As it sounds, we will be playing this little outcast for tutorials in the game to not only flesh out her story but also to see how she, and we, learn the skills and put them into practice. It makes sense and it's always fun way to mix the two into a game better. Why not have the inexperienced player learn along with the character? It's all about growth right? At least it looks that way here and I hope it isn't just me reading into things here again.
Horizon Zero Dawn — Secrets Of The Past
You will uncover Horizon Zero Dawn's many mysteries through the eyes of Aloy, a brave machine hunter searching for the secret of her origin. Learn how the team at Guerrilla Games designed the the experience with this new protagonist in mind.
I am interested to see how deep Guerrilla Games goes with the whole other tribe's aspect of Horizon Zero Dawn now that they mention it. For the most part I am going to guess that there will be some animosity here and there but mostly just to progress the in-game economy and story. They did mention that they looked at it all as anthropologists though so it would be interesting to see if there are true different cultural, religious, and general different beliefs we will have to deal with. Maybe cannibalism will be a thing as most of the animals in the world are now made of metal. Seems a bit dark for Horizon Zero Dawn as we've seen but it would be interesting.
What's your take on all of this new stuff for Horizon Zero Dawn that we just had? Does it make sense to play the tutorials as young Aloy or does it beg the question as to why she will still be a novice at the start of the adult portion of the game? Do you think that the other tribes will have drastic different beliefs and structures as in the real world or will it be just background noise to dictate if you are going to get a good trade or not? Let us know your thoughts on all of this and feel free to discuss in the comments below. For more on Horizon Zero Dawn as it comes, be sure to stick right here as we'll keep it all flowing.
