Resident Evil 7

The next two Resident Evil 7 teasers are here and they show us just some of the puzzles Resident Evil 7 will have in store for us

The next two video clips for Resident Evil 7 are here and they are just as cryptic as the puzzles they are showing off. Well at least one of them is as it shows off what looks to be a puzzle Capcom has for us in the game to solve and the other more or less just shows us that things can be hidden almost anywhere in the game. They may not be the most intense videos for Resident Evil 7 to date but they do highlight one of the franchise's core mechanics to get around the game's world or to find some amazing items to help you live just a bit longer. Something we'll all be hoping for when we actual play the game for sure.

The first video we have here is titled "A Closer Look" and it looks to highlight the fact that not all items we find in the game will be what we see. If the assumptions are correct based on this video then there could be a lot of hidden items around Resident Evil 7 that we could be carrying on our person the whole time. Nothing new to gaming at all but a nice little touch for the game here and it could lead to a lot of other mysteries in the game to boot. Have a gander and see what I'm talking about as the player searches a nice orange box.

Oh the teasing as the video ends just before we see what is in the box. Although it does look worth noting that the inner item was only suspected by tilting this case a specific way in the examine screen. It also looks like Resident Evil 7 won't pause while doing this so we'll always need to be aware in the game world. It is just interesting that it took the specific tilt to hear something rolling around in the box and that is what prompted the user to look further. Like I said, nothing new but a fun thing to add into the immersion and most likely the VR aspect of the game.

Next up we have a video that is simply titles "Imagination." While it is not expressly stated here, it looks like this could be one of the puzzles for Resident Evil 7 that we'll have to solve. It looks like we'll have to pull out items and align the shadow to the picture but that was just my takeaway on what was shown here. I could be wrong, and hopefully am, as this does look to require a rather large spider to be hoisted up to solve. Have a look for yourself though and be the judge. Maybe I saw things differently than I should have.

All of the speculation aside on the puzzle side of things, what do you think the meaning of the doll here is in Resident Evil 7? It looks to be like one of those crudely carved dolls that are used all the time in horror films to scare people and this one has the word "You" scrawled across the face. Could this be a warning from someone in the game or just another creepy touch that Capcom has put in to bring the horror back to the Resident Evil franchise again? I'm going to think that it is a bit of both here for now. It would make sense and everything but what other use could it really have? I guess we'll find out on January 24^th.
