Take A Trip Into Madness With New Gameplay For Agony

Agony

A new gameplay video for horror tittle Agony has been released and it show just how twisted Agony will be when it finally launches for us all

Back just before E3 we had a look at a new horror title by the name of Agony. This would be a first-person title in the works from Madmind Studio that places us in the depths of Hell with no memory of how we got there but the ability to control other human souls and the low-level demons we come across. All of which is just to be able to scrape our way out of Hell and back to wherever that may lead. But as the name Agony states, it won't be easy and one hellish of a journey. Now we get to see just what is in store for us as the first bit of solid gameplay has been released for us to digest.

As the screen will state, this is a work in progress and a very short eight-minute section of Agony but it is designed to give us a feel for the survive, the horror, and the twisted world that has been crafted here. Although it does look like a walking simulator with a few QTEs mixed in when we get down to the nitty gritty of gameplay mechanics. I'm certain there is more to it all but I don't think that was the goal of this new sample of gameplay. It is to show just how the horrors of the world will be presented and how we will need to act to survive. Although if we are in Hell already I'm not sure what we need to survive instead of just endure…

Agony — Gameplay trailer

Agony is a first-person survival horror game currently in development. Players will begin their journey as tormented soul within the depths of hell without any memories about his past. The special ability to control people on their path, and even possess simple minded demons, gives the player the necessary measures to survive in the extreme conditions they are in. By exploring hostile environment and interacting with the other weary souls of the hellscape, the hero will soon understand that there is only one way to escape from Hell, and it will require a meeting of the mystical Red Goddess.

I won't deny the fact that the level or levels here for Agony truly do look to be thing of nightmares. More so than any of the other titles in history that tried to capture the look and feel of Hell before. I'm looking at you Dante's Inferno. While that was a great title it truly does look like Madmind Studio has a great grasp on what the nightmare world could truly look like if it were real. It would make sense that the wall would try to eat you and that gravity has no meaning in this realm. Hopefully you watched the above video to see what I really meant by that and are not just reading the words.

Agony is slated to release sometime in 2017 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. If I had to venture a guess on the date I'd say it would be safe to assume that we'll see it sometime around Halloween but that just always makes the best sense for a horror title like Agony. We can rest assured that even if it isn't around then, then we can see it in 2017 at some point.

What do you think about Agony now that you've seen some real gameplay here? Do you think that they have crafted a perfect horror world given the setting or is this all stuff you think you've seen before? Do you think there will be more than sneaking around and QTE dodges in the final game? Let us know and feel free to discuss in the comments below. Since Agony has caught our eyes you can be sure we'll have everything that we can get for the game up here on the site. Stay tuned right here so you don't miss out on anything.
