A new Mafia 3 trailer has been released out of Gamescom and it looks like it is what starts the Mafia 3 story off with a huge bang

It seems like we can't go a half a week without another new Mafia 3 trailer or update and that is a good thing. If it was kept silent then it would seem more and more like 2K Games has no faith in what Hangar 13 has put together for us but here is seems like they want to get fully behind it. That all said, here we have yet another trailer for Mafia 3 right out of Gamescom and it is one that I think we've all been waiting for. This one shows us just how the whole story is going to start off with a huge bang and exactly why Lincoln is on his rampage.

By now I am sure we all know that in Mafia 3 we play a man that has been double-crossed by the Italian Mafia. There was no solid reason given as of yet but in the new video called 'The Heist' we get a solid look at the motivations to why the Italians decided to make enemies of the Black Mafia when trying to take them out of the game. The mafia game and not the video game for those who can't follow along. Here we get to see just why they murdered them all and possibly how Lincoln survived the brutal attack that set him on the destruction of the mob here. All in what looks like a solid bit of gameplay too.

I have a feeling that this will all be the tutorial missions of Mafia 3 given the setting and look we have here. Not that this is a bad thing as before now we've been led to believe that the story would have been shown in cut-scenes or flashbacks but here it looks like we get to play-out the mission that set it all up. It does look like a few more things are going on in the background of things as the point blank shot we are left with here would have killed Clay. Maybe this little mook is an ally of ours in some case or chooses not to kill Lincoln as they have a history of sorts. Who knows for now?
