The Walking Dead
A few new tidbits for The Walking Dead season three from Telltale have come out of SDCC as well as some new screenshots for The Walking Dead's third season
It was stated that we would get some more on the third season of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead during San Diego Comic Con and fans were not let down. At least not let down outside of the fact that we were still left with a whole lot to wonder on as we head toward the new season's release and just what has gone on in the game's world since then. Especially since most of it is all cannon for The Walking Dead franchise and not just some extra fluff. Thankfully with the sparse details we also had a few new screenshots to come along with to ease the wait for it to finally launch.
You can see the new screenshots below as we see the heroes of this season of The Walking Dead in action a bit. It definitely looks like Clem has been aged a bit as the newborn baby definitely looks like he is closer to a year or two old. That could just be the case here to make it an easy transition from the place we all left off in season two. Although Telltale did go out there and state that that divergent choice we all made will be continued from. I have a feeling it will be with a filler story type for the newcomers to The Walking Dead game here but who knows until we finally get to play the game.
Outside of that we get to see just how the new relationship between Clem and the other new character Javier will play out. This isn't going to be a solid relationship out of the gate according to Telltale Games as it will be in the infancy of things but how else would The Walking Dead play out if everything was solidly built from the start? It wouldn't and that is what we all love about the story and characters in the game. I just hope we have a chance to truly build or strain the relationship and not have it forced a specific way because of the story they want to tell and not what we want to play.
Another unique aspect of this third season is that while it absolutely continues the story of the previous two seasons, it also serves as a new entry point for fans who've yet to be caught up to speed. Players starting with this third season will be introduced to young survivor AJ, who fans will recognize as the son of Rebecca from Season Two - and we can confirm that he will be making an appearance in this season as well. So players who are new to the series will have a chance to learn more about Clementine's backstory, while at the same time, those who have played previous seasons will have a story that's uniquely tailored to the diverging paths they've taken in the past.
What do you think about the new screenshots for The Walking Dead that we have here? Do you agree that the time lapse will be the method that they use to bring the story back to one location given all the variations we had before? Do you think that we can truly strain the relationship more than just scowls between the two? Let us know and feel free to discuss in the comments below. For all things The Walking Dead be sure to stay right here as we will keep bringing you all the fun as it comes. Hopefully a bit sooner than later.
